State of the Game

Don't get me wrong - inara is fantastic and I've set up a separate raspberry pi to use with various on line tools while I'm playing. It also runs a BBC micro emulator so that I can use my own cargo mission stacking program.

Prior to inara being created I kept a ledger of the systems I visited with prices and information. In the older games I also kept notes but it was a bit easier back then, especially for the original game.

I find enjoyment and satisfaction in making things even more tedious than they need to be, this probably says a lot about me as a person.

There is nothing more satisfying (and terrifying for the observer) in having a giant list of CAUSE FAMINE HERE / KILL / CHANGE GOV TYPE / MURDER with a load of kill marks.

After a proper campaign of BGS terror I felt like Gru

Really?
I just found a nice High tech system with a lower tech industrial neighbour and made that my home. It was only after engineers and tech brokers became things, I had to travel more than one jump.

Admittedly it helped that with my Elite/FFE time, I knew where I wanted to be based already for lore...

... and that when I turned up in "my old home system" it was high tech with an industrial neighbour.
In the original it was me and my dad flying through space in a haphazard fashion - i kept the log and he flew so we needed to know what we'd paid for stuff.
He still flies like that in E : D except in a reckless, septuagenarian way treating his FDL like he stole it so I keep well out of the way now!

And here was me thinking I was ballin when I bought a stream deck and set up a button to turn on my ship lights.
I'd love a stream deck - best bit would be the reliability!
I've bored people with my controller set up a number of times here and it's now at the point where I have to whack it to get it to work, adds a new element of realism to go with the dangly wires in some ships.

if i was going to track things ..i'd code a website to do it automatically via the journal and/or the api. Rather than manually enter stuff in a spreadsheet. That's why third party solutions are intentional - it's an inevitable efficiency solution. it's what fdev wants.

Well, you are awesome - maybe you should petition FD to employ you and sack Lord Brebus, as you are clearly better.

provides a daily dump

I do that.

Kim Jon Rubbernuke.
Well thinking about it in game terms:

I've killed millions
I've starved millions
Crashed entire economies
I have no regard for security forces or navies at all
I've transported about a million people into 're-educational facilities'
I've transported about a million marked slaves for execution
I've established an ethical meat company with compelling products
I've ransacked tombs of ancient races
I've looted corpses
I've produced 'questionable memes father'

Technically I'm worse than all of the worst people to have ever lived put together. More alarmingly ED is a factory for such people where being 'nice' is abnormal and that I'm not a bad egg but typical.

I think you have done well! ;)
