Station dimensions?

No idea, but massive.

If you have a read of Drew Wager's books, in Reclamation there is a scene where he describes Salome first stepping foot on a Coriolis station after landing. It's really good as it gives the sense of scale really well, how huge and cavernous the landing area really is, how disorientating it would be.

Also the books are a great read for anyone who knows the game. Or likes Sci-fi generally.

What we need to do is read this: https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Station
Then we need to calculate based on the rotation speed of the stations and the gravity at the outer edges. That will tell us how big they are.
Maybe we take this formula and and change it to solve for the radius?: Centripetal force = mass x velocity2 / radius
Bet someone's already done this long ago. In fact, I remember having a discussion in this forum at some point about the general size of these things.

Pad dimensions

For internationals, the length of the football pitch is 100-110m and the width 64-75m.
This makes:
Small landing pad: Half an international standard football pitch.
Medium landing pad: Two international standard football pitches.
Large landing pad: About 3.5 international standard football pitches.

Had to look up subbuteo but I get it. Kinda like electric football without the electricity. A couple of questions though. Do two guys lock arms and run around in circles? Does the guy with the ball inevitably run the wrong way? Does it get so boring after about 2 minutes that you wonder why you begged your parents for it in the first place?

Do you mean when playing subbuteo or when crown bowling? (The pic is crown bowling - basically old old people, playing really polite ten-pin without lanes - a bit like curling, but not on ice, and using very light things, as they are old).

If subbuteo, then the answers to all your questions is probably yes. Iirc, you had to flick your player at the ball, trying to get it in the goal. Whenever I played (with my older sister tbh!), I spent the whole game simply trying to get my plastic players into positions that I could then flick them either at my sister, or harder at my old man.... To be fair, I guess I was between 6 and 10 years old!

For crown bowling, I'd be worried about the old people doing any of those things, without breaking a pelvis, or just passing out from excessive amounts of enjoyment. It's a very tranquil peaceful game - if you think cricket is slow and confusing, imagine cricket played by confused snails. Then you're in the ballpark - pun not intended!!

I meant subbuteo. Figured it was boring. As for crickets, they are small black insects that keep you up all night with their chirping. Please don't let them get in cahoots with the snails.
