Steam Support

Hello guys, I would like to know when the game will be displayed at Steam, because I live in Brazil and for me isn't a great option to buy something in foreign currency, so I would when and if it will be at Steam.
Thanks,
Vitor [yesnod]

It would be interested to see if it will be supported by steam. Since they do have Elite Dangerous in steam I wounder if they will have it all in steam or both with steam and not? Good question Vitor!

Doubt you'll be able to pre-order on Steam. There's no sense in sacrificing 30% off every pre-order sale to Valve this early. (The game isn't due for release until Q4 2016.)

Frontier already have a Steam Key generation system in place on their store so you'll no doubt be able to import it into your Steam Library when they release on that platform.

True, this is why I'm thinking they could do something like what they did with ED, but then again I really don't mind if they don't do it on steam, it would be nice for updating but how they handle updates on ED on the non steam platform they do a great job, I'm sure they will here as well!

Also a big plus to go on Steam is the workshop. See how Cities Skylines for example improved by mods and assets.

I don't know what Frontier's opinion is on modding, but could be really interesting!

I would rather not have Steam Support for this game. Some games I think will do better without Steam, like this one.

I'd prefer Steam, I know where I am with it - It works. I'd also like the idea of stream workshop too, a central secure place for it all, rather than things posted forums for people to upload and mod themselves.

I agree I would rather not have steam, they could almost build there own system for mods, just like many games have done so in the past.

From what I remember, back when custom scenery was first being explored for RCT3, Frontier was somewhat supportive of it. Atari didn't like it very much though but I think once they realized how it would increase the longevity of the game they were fine with it and even created subforums for custom objects.

I mean, I highly doubt the roller coaster community would be still as large as it is today had it not been for custom scenery and rides! Definitely very important! :)

I wouldn't exactly say Steam workshop is secure for file storage. Who's to say in a decades time, Steam decides to discontinue the SteamCommunity site - taking along most of the user generated content with it? That would be a bad thing to see happen.

Theoretically speaking.... What if we created something inside the game client to pull in, sync, upload user generated content?

Hm didn't see it that way. The only thing what I don't like is there are a a lot of user generated content and looking searching for the best natively working mod could be difficult under the thousands of UGC. This rating system not perfect enough to find the best.

RCTW will natively integrate UGC. That's fine. If you are sure to build a solid working system that's easy to use I'm for it!

I was thinking more in line with knowing exactly what content is being installed. - The last thing I want is something that is dodgy being uploaded into my game. - I honestly don't think Steam will discontinue the workshop, It's too valuable.

If you're going to do it externally, I'd like to be able to see the items within the game and pull them from there, without needed to go else where, or even Alt-Tab

There are more chances Frontier stops its internal hosting, rather than Steam. [uhh]
