Steam wont update E:D!

Steam wont update the game. I ran it some hours ago but now I cannot play.
I tried validating the game files in Steam.
Slight delay, does that mean 1 hour+?

i have the same problem, but

what worked for me was updating it with the EDLaunch in your

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous/EDLaunch.exe

it takes a while until it begins the update process but this should help.

How do you mean, updating it with the Launcher?

Thanks. This at least offers the update to me. But the EDLAUNCH.exe freezes when I press update. I hope it picks up eventually. My X56 just came in today...

I tried your trick and I get a login button. I put in my info and get you need to purchase ED. I have a valid copy of ED from Steam and cannot update, any ideas?
