Seems like you like NMS. I see a solution to your problems ... maybe go play NMS & give up on ED .... pleeeeeeeeeaaaasssseeee![]()
You could have asked Universities to fill in the details. Yet you didn't do a thing. You had the opportunity to expand this game to challenge physics.
You had the opportunity to really let people know about what surrounds us. You could have had a gold mine. Idiots.
If you cant produce a game - a game that solely relies on mechanics in a pre designed universe. Then just get out. You can't do your job. I often wondered if NMS could pull it off, and you know what? They did a bloody brillant job.
And a far more impressive job that you lot did. You could have asked Universities to fill in the details. Yet you didn't do a thing. You had the opportunity to expand this game to challenge physics.
You had the opportunity to really let people know about what surrounds us. You could have had a gold mine. Idiots.
The question will remain the same. How did so few people manage to make a total embarrassment of your RNG skills?
Can you imagine an astronomer using FD as his main tool? Nope. But he can get exited about the rough realizations. And that is why FD cannot fail. It started as a game, but yet is one of the main visionary tools to explore our locality. Please go ahead and PUNCH this game so it becomes a reality. Please.
You had me laughing at this. They're still only two thirds of a game in. Maybe one day they finish it and start with the polish.
Yeah, it's an exaggerated reaction, but he's right about NMS.
In 2 years Hello Games developed and improved a lot No Man's Sky, much more than Frontier did with Elite, they revised and introduced a lot of new tools and new game loops.
Elite instead proceeded very slow. It's not developers fault. David Braben moved everyone on other projects so there was not enough manpower to produce quality DLC for Elite.
I would say that probably, considering the few people that remained on the Elite project, they even made an excellent job considering the low manpower.
I just hope that more devs will join the Elite team so that they can finally start to produce high quality stuff.
I wish people would stop comparing FD and HG, the scenarios are entirely different! Hello Games had two options (and only two), do nothing and close the company because their player count was down to the 100's after the disastrous release OR work their collective butts off to improve the game. Luckily for the company, they took the latter option. But FD are not in that situation, they have maintained a healthy and solid player base throughout the life of the game, there hasn't been a need for them to stop all other efforts to save the game from cyber scrap heap!
Yes HG should be congratulated for saving the company, but to compare what they HAD TO DO, to what FD are doing which is maintaining their project schedule is just wrong.
Well that prevent me from playing NMS. 30 Hours and your done. Lame. What was that I read about NMS recently? Oh yes, 30 hours of play and the games finished. There are people on ED with hundreds and even thousands of hours play, just wondering which game is doing it right. According to the OP most players should just try ED for a few hours, find out how bad it is, quit and go to NMS.
We only get partail review from Steam about Elite because not everyone has Steam.Oh well, oh yes just read that steam reviews for NMS have gone from mostly negative to mixed in July this year, so apparently it hasn't caught up to ED on steam reviews yet, but appears to be improving, good luck to them I say, there's no reason why ED should be the only space game, there's plenty of room.
Agree. Rep +1One persons opinion doesn't make a game, I think we should just look at it that way, there are games I tried and didn't really like at all, I didn't feel the need to post on the forums, I think as long as ED attracts passionate players it can't really go that far wrong.
Oh how i do love these kinds of rants, feel free to employ over a 100 people and design your own game and we can all judge how your game turns out, i do so love these airheads that call themselves gamers that we get today![]()
