When playing ED, after a while Windows Defender on Windows 10 starts to munch away about 25% of my CPU performance. I only observed this when running ED (with CV1, have to find out for desktop playing). This results in funny stuttering, makes one feel like on a bad, bad Onion Head trip. Basically, one can deactivate Windows Defender, which works well if you like your windows to cease defending you. You can do this in the Defender real-time protection settings (but it's reactivated upon reboot) or permanently by some more drastical measures. Just as a tip.
