Sufficient Amount of Felines?

I definitely understand the cat exhaustion, but I would like at least a serval, pallas cat, ocelot, and sand cat, personally. Possibly fishing cat or Asian golden cat in there somewhere.

I understad this opinion and cats really are well represented in the game, at least when it comes to big and medium sized cats. That said I'd love to have one or two really small small cats (even the caracal is more like medium sized but still a really cool and useful addition), so an ocelot, sand cat or pallas cat for example.

No, you never can have enough felines. Honestly 2 further cat species with the Ocelot and the Serval are nearly a must for me. Further additions from the fisting cat, Sand cat, Jaguarundi, Pallas Cat, Asian Golden Cat would be nice to have species, too

I will take more felines in future dlc, provided that canines are still added in future dlc.
I was hoping for the caracal and glad it’s coming, striped hyena wasn’t high on my list but did cross my mind several times, i feel now we have enough large felines.
Just like we got foxes being small canines, I think remaining felines should be smaller felines.
Ocelots, servals, Pallas cats, sand cats and fishing cats I could see appearing in the future.
While I know pretty much all felines are non social (except for lions), I’ve seen some felines sharing a habitat. I have seen ocelots in a zoo with like 6 together unless they were cubs and their mother. When I was at a cat sanctuary in South Africa, the owner let us into the serval habitat and there were many, I even got to pick one up. Point I’m trying to make, I’m hoping that if small felines get added, then they can let more then 2 live in the same habitat.

This is some good "feedback" - not that I have anything to do with what gets created lol. But hopefully also help Frontier is determine that overall, there actually is a want or need for more felines. At least to the point that most people would still prefer to get some more. I agree with the thought that the big cats are probably not going to be revisited, but I'd think if they were, the African Leopard, another Lion subspecies and another Tiger subspecies would be more than enough for the big cats. The Ocelot would be my pick for another cat but the sand cat, pallas cat and jaguarundi would be interesting choices. So maybe 1 more big cat at most and maybe 2 more small cats would manage to get to a better level for most people? I know that we all know we're not going to get every animal we're wanting, but at least get it close to being happy with the representation? Of course, I could say that for me personally that canines, primates as well as felines.

I do think they could with 3-5 more small canid and felid species, just fill out the small predator roster. Things like: Serval, Ocelot, Bush dog, and Raccoon Dog. Only other things they could fill the small carnivore niche with are weasels, Fossa, Tasmanian Devils, which have yet to be added despite a lot of fan love.

I think at this ponit its pretty safe to say that the reason Fossa and Devils are still missing is that frontier has them planed for a Island DLC, together with the tree kangaroo and kiwi would be my optimal pack.

I'd like to share your enthusiasm, but Islands aren't a biome, so unless they break the pattern... I'm not really hopeful. Still I trust frontier to make good animals choices, they have so far.

EDIT: Then again, neither is Twilight.

I think lands is the key here. Wetlands, Grasslands, and then perhaps islands.

Even though something happening twice (so far) isn't much of a pattern.

Also that biomes have only been animal packs so far, while there's no apparent pattern in scenery packs. Islands could be either and is one of the few themes left with a somewhat obvious scenery set.

Highlands, Islands, Drylands (deserts), Coastlands, Fjordlands, Icelands?, GREENLAND 🇬🇱
Woodlands is a big one that I think still has a decent chance of happening.

Not to sure about if Frontier is even trying to create patterns anymore. This years content makes me think they will start just making misc DLCs with "random" ideas and themes instead of restricting themselves to region/biomes and be forced to make construction piececs out of them. Atleast for the regular packs, animal pack may just stay region/biome based.

I would like to get the ocelot and the Pallas's cat but I could survive without either. I think that Rainforests and Deserts could both very likely be dlc themes next year and I figure they would probably each get in.

Not to wander too far from the thread but yes, I agree that this particular list of animals hasn't made an appearance in part as yet because there's likely going to be an island pack of some type. The four you mentioned are an excellent line up for it, and still leaves a spot open for something from the New World if they're so inclined.

I think a lot of the appeal for a new lion subpop or subspecies is that the new model would presumably be an improvement on the old. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one actively campaigning for a new tiger, though. 😅
