General Suggestion: Outfitting simulator to test and practice

I’d like to make a suggestion. I really enjoy elite dangerous but I think it’d be even better if within the game there was some kind of simulation that allows you to test outfitting. I envision some kind of simulation tool you can access at Starport Outfitters where you can create test situations with target drones that lets you test your ship different kinds of weapons or loadouts and engineering before you buy it, or you can use it to to practice the techniques of aiming and using the equipment without fear if getting blown up or wasting your time engineering it only for it to not suit you . For example, I’ve never used rail guns and before I go buy them and get them all tuned up, I’d like to practice with them to see if I even like using them at all.

Yes but.

Apart from a small loss of credits for the hull and any fitted modules you can try things cost free selling stuff back if you don’t like it*. Obviously you can’t get engineering investment back but unengineered modules will let you get a feel of the module so you know if it feels promising to you.

*Allways remove all non core modules when selling a ship and replace core modules with the smallest E rated ones you can fit.

Logistically, I don't think a "test track" for use of a better term would work in game. Though adding custome ships/loadouts to the training simulator/tutorial section would be an easier route, but that still requires a significant amount of work on FDev's part.

Though, the reality is, once you get enought credits and pin blueprints, you can easily test loadouts, with at least grade 3 engineering for very little loss that just doesn't matter. By which point you'll have enough knowledge of ship stats that EDSY/Coriolis/EDOMH are enough to create a base build.
