[SUGGESTION] Remote ship transfer should be a thing.

CMDRS should be able to transfer a ship to a station without having to be in the said station, maybe it could come at a small added cost idk just add it

Quality of life improvements are heavily criticized by the forum-players and are against FDev's vision for Elite.
That said, yeah, we should be able to hire transport for us from any station to another. It'd take at least as long as module/ship transfer and you'd be chilling inside your shuttle's bar or rec room.
Also you should be able to order ships and modules to be moved around for a larger fee if you're not present in the origin or destiny stations.

Yeah, that was numerous times suggested even before the first introduction of the ship transfers, however we have what we have. Probably requires significant UI re-tweaking (3 systems involved) in compare with presented one (only 2 systems)

One of the best things about the current system is that you summon the ship or module to where you are so there is no issue with them going to the wrong place.
If you can send a ship to some other location it could end up lost because you picked the wrong version of the station.

There are ways to get round that and other problems but they would probably involve a much more complicated interface and tons of salt on the forums.

Understandable, yes
At least once I've clicked "sell stored" instead of "use" in the shipyard interface and have sold a fully engineered ship. No posts, no tickets asking to restore - that was my own fault. Besides, we do see some salt on the forums - nothing out of the ordinary. At the same time this can result in more logical gameplay (while at the same time this problem is somewhere negated with the FC introduction). Anyway I was (and still is) one of the apologists of "no instant transfer" approach=)

This is just pointless salt, being that it's untrue. Most of the criticism is aimed at those who rehash old ideas that have been discussed to death with no real consensus ever being reached. Or those who complain a game feature is broken - when it's their usage that is wrong..

Apparently you have failed to keep track of the little info that has been released about Odyssey, or you'd know Apex Transport is coming.

I agree, it would be handy to be able to move a ship or modules from station to station without needing to be at one end. It would be handy to be able to move the modules for my 'Bubble loadout' to another station when I'm headed back from an exploration trip, means I could avoid detours to get 'home' when my return doesn't line up with my home system.

Is there anything much to keep track of? :ROFLMAO:
But indeed I remember seeing something like that is coming. Do you have any specific info or link to some details of this system, or did FDev release any? You are right that I could have missed that bit.

I think I read somewhere they aim to make Odyssey almost entirely playable as a FPS game if one so wished. Maybe it was a misconception or outdated info but it could be implied from this that they wanna develop a transportation method that doesn't require the player to engage the very rewarding gameplay loop of friendship drive charging + honking + scooping over and over and over. And over again.
