General Suggestion: Shinrarta Dezhra for completionist CMDRs

Hello fellow CMDRS!
As you know, one of the most beatiful things about being a Commander is that you can do whatever you want during your journey.
You can be a bounty hunter, explorer, trader, whatever your heart pleases. And then there's me: a ship collector.
I've been playing for over a thousand hours, almost since the release of the game, and I managed to collect and outfit all the ships in the game.
After long hours of grinding, I managed to get the permit to Shinrarta Dezhra, and Jameson Memorial became my home base. I chose that because it had the space to keep all my ships in one place, something essential to me.
And now we get to the point, until now every time a new ship was added to the game, a shipyard slot was added to Jameson as well.
It was the place where you could have all the modules and all the ships, and you had to work for it, and I worked for it.
But now it doesn't seem to be that case anymore, right now there are 42 ships and 40 places (41 would be needed to have all ships in-station) and I am sure in the past Jameson was the place for completionist Commanders like me.
I contacted the assistance to know why this way of doing things stopped, and they suggested me to open a thread here.
So here I am, respectfully suggesting to the developers to continue giving Commanders the possibility to have a place where they can access all their assets together, especially after they grinded for that for so many hours. I am obviously not suggesting to apply this to all stations, but only in Jameson Memorial, the sort of arrival point for so many CMDRs.
I am also wondering if I am the only one who feels this need, so let me know what you all think about, thanks!

Get a Fleet Carrier. Park the least used ships in SD, and the most used couple on the carrier. Ships can be transferred back and forth as required.

Seems absolutely fair enough TBH. If we can have billions in credits, why not have one of every ship? If it's reasonable have one of every ship, surely it's also reasonable to store them in the same station?

Now, I'm sure there's a good argument out there about this potentially getting silly - "Dillon..." someone says "...surely this is the path to asking for capacity for 100 ships, or 1000?"

Well, no. Set the ship limit to equivalent of one of every ship and there's a limit that makes sense and people can understand why that limit is there. It's not an arbitrary number picked out of a developer's underwear. Of course, there's going to be a hard limit somewhere I assume, but I'm sure FDev can look after things in regards to that.

IIRC, once upon a time there may have been more berths than ships. How times change.

As a non completionist, I think that the obsession to have one of every ship is just weird.

My 7,000+ hours doesn’t take me back more than 9 years.

Now this I don’t remember happening, to the best of my recollection we have the same storage limit for ships at every station with a Shipyard and always have had.
The only thing that increased at Jameson was the number of ships for sale.

There are several commanders that feel that the ship storage limit should be expanded for carriers at least and have mentioned it several times since the new ships started arriving.

My memory coud be failing on this, I recently resumed playing after a long pause. I have this memory of seeing shipyard places to be added one at a time, but I trust who has been playing for more time than me.

Yeah, I am happy to know I am not the only one at least. I totally agree with your thinking here CMDR.

I totally get that. Not everyone is the same, and everyone gets enjoying a game in a different way.
I started collecting stuff since I was able to walk or something like that, and my passion grew and evolved with me.

I think it's good that we can discuss different ways of getting involved in Elite.

Okay but what does that have to do with the thread?

This does not seem like a logical request.

If there is a general need to expand station capacity that's fine, okay. I don't see any need for this but sure whatever, I really don't care.

But the stated need to expand it specifically so that someone can store exactly one of each ship in a single location seems really weak. To sell the idea of expanding station storage capacity they need better reasoning.

I don't have the stats, but I'm sure the number of players that have exactly one of every ship (no duplicates) and desire to store them all in exactly one location is extremely small.

Parking Garages! And or Hangars in your colonies! Fleet Carrier is the logical answer, and why I've said elsewhere to treat them closer to ships than stations. Let a player pay for 200 hangars and then store 200 of their own ships (but nobody else can land), or store 50 ships and have 150 spots they can rent out to others.

... or something. Bonus points if you account for pad-size, let people store multiple small ships in the space that a large ship would occupy.

Established that (luckily) I am not the only one, we can put it like this: not everybody that wants a home base will have it at Jameson, so yeah, this could be a general need.

Also, and I think we could all agree on that, this feature won't ruin anything for non-completionist players.

But as you say, we could be too few to justify devs work.
If that's the case we'll find a way to copy with that, I just felt the need to at least have my playstyle acknowledged by the community, so we can discuss it in terms of different experiences.

Judging by the activity on this thread, this could be a good topic to have a chat about, so I really appreciate the replies I am reading.
