Summary of tonight's ED On the Horizion/Engineers Beta Part 1 stream

Not a fan of the motion of the new beam laser, and the impact (lolpun) of the Force Shell may require balancing to not be totally annoying. Big fan of everything else.

I'd guess it would have to have a slow fire rate and/or long 'charging' time. If it was instant-fire, rapid-fire it'd be incredibly annoying (for everyone bar one Cmdr! :) )

If you really wanted carnage - add a race mode to Arena, and give everyone a Force Shell. Now that'd be Kinetic-geddon!

Jeepers Creepers - that's an amazing idea!!!! Easily implemented as well (I am guessing 😬).

I am slightly concerned that upon my return from the center of the galaxy I will be harvested by ultra supped up NPC's.. will probably lose all my data :(

Do let us know on the forums you're comming back just when few jumps from the buble and ask for an escort one of the Commanders in fighter class ships. This is how few Commanders out there have done it already. Use the fact its a multiplayer universe my friend!!!;)

I'm loving the new Outfitting menu! I hope they also add a way to adjust module priority from within Outfitting, otherwise jumping back and forth between Outfitting and the right-hand panel is still going to be annoying.

+1 to OP, very much appreciated! As a non-native speaker with limited spelling skills I've always a hard time to understand Michael Brookes talking, almost lose 50% of content. Even can't read from his lips, beart is just too dense. :p That's why I always prefer text over audio at any day whenever it comes to educational stuff.

I know how you feel, I have a hearing impairment that lowers my comprehension. If I can't read someone's lips I mistake some words for other words. (Funny anecdote: On our 1st date my wife mentioned she liked corn. I wasn't looking at her and I thought she said she like p-orn!)

About halfway though the stream MB mentioned someone asking a question multiple times. It was something to do with the galaxy map. I couldn't tell what his response or even exactly what the question was was but I think the answer was pretty much no.

Or limited ammo - not limited in the sense of 20+900, but limited in the sense of Jumponium materials, i.e. you might carry a few dozen shells or so, but in order to reload, you'd have to go to some far out of the way place (the Engineer?) to gather new ones.

So, after slapping 20 CMDRs out of the slot, you'll be gone for a week or two gathering the reloads...

I agree, this is an incredibly significant change. Actually my original question concerning whether the tyre tracks had been added to the crashed DBX newsletter image in post production was alluding to the fact (as pointed out in Obsidian Ant's 1.6/2.1 roundup video) that the quality of the rocks around the front of the DBX seemed better than what we're currently used to (where loose surface rocks currently stand out as being somewhat separate from the planet surface).

I noticed that too. I've always complained how they sticked out, now they seem to blend in much more naturally!

I understand the math and all but to hear that not even 0.1% of the galaxy discovered after more than a year release ... just astounding

  • Something very cool in Friday's Newsletter, not even hinted at yet.

So I'm left wondering which of the incredibly cool things in this weeks newsletter were they referring to... I'm guessing comms chatter.
