Super Penetrator

It took about two weeks or so- all the adverts were already done (I had entered them into the holo advert competition but they all got rejected :( ) so it was a case of writing the puns and doing the layout.

I can kinda understand why they might have been rejected lol, but it's still fabulous work imho mate :)

I was a bit sore, as the ones they chose were quite out of place really and duplicated a lot of existing stuff (but I'll grump into my tea :D )

I did loads of Adverts (about 30) but I was most pleased with these for Powerplay to replace the plain portraits. Here they are:

It has been a while since I played but, I recall having the same "issue" and investigating it a bit. My DBS ran two short range super pen imperial hammers as its primary damage dealers, and they certainly would occasionally absolutely slaughter internal components. Other times, round after round would have no effect. The key is, just because you strike the hull of a ship does not mean your round will penetrate, even with a super penetrator which you would imagine might penetrate the impregnable. Ok. Sorry I could not resist.

Anyway! The "breach" stat determines the likelihood of your super penetrators penetrating. Oh God, I can't help myself.

What I am saying is, there is only a chance of hitting a module, even if you are on target!
I think my problem is just bad aiming although I know I hit the sub enough to where it should be falling in %, but... not nearly as often as I would like to see. I need to get better, no doubt, I have these visions of Sniping these griefers in the game, but I have a long way to go, as you can see from my little test video I did last night on my test "Fixed" weapons Krait MKII.

Sorry if the video quality is a little muddy, I use this GeForce capture and it has an issue with capturing nice clean 3440x1440 in game video, it just seems like it can't do it very well, even though I have it set to high bit rate and "In-Game" resolution. If anyone can recommend a good free (or even pay) capture alternative to GeForce Experience?! Anyway, you can see, my problem is aiming, maybe I am not firing from the right angle or something. I think you need to be RIGHT behind the ship. I lay down a few solid shots on these two ships but power plant doesn't move. I did send that one Elite Clipper running though! Ha!

Snipping Subs, or Trying at Least

As to inspire you, I remember Hazzmango sniping reverb torpedoes that were going to slam into his wingmate :D

@RN - OK i got my sight back now, awesome newspaper, love the details...are you a forger by career? :)

Ive started doing Halloween masks on the Breaking News thread, your reworked PP posters just reminded me, would love you to have a go with your art talents and comedy genius.

I have noticed you have to be careful with these fixed weapons. I've "slammed" unintended ships a few times and they don't forgive a misguided shot! Ha!

Latest theory is that hitting it is still OK, but if it dies shortly after you get credited the 'kill' which makes everyone hostile. The 'hit' waiver has been tuned up and down repeatedly I think but this theory does fit the new behaviours...it seems....more evidence is good.
