Summary
System: LP 855-34
Station: The Undeniable (Megaship, large pads available, 1,397 Ls from main star, 58.20 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver mined Platinum
Time limit: 15th May 3311 @ 07:00 UTC

Description
A competitive mining rush has been sparked by the primary faction of LP 855-34 calling for Platinum to support several construction projects.
Forces on behalf of Felicia Winters and Yuri Grom have both answered the call and are now in conflict over the currently unoccupied system.
A representative of Yuri Grom’s fleet accused the Federation of exploiting the system:
We came here to trade honest labour for honest pay. But these Federal weasels are already looking to corner the market! There’s little point trying to negotiate approved mining spots with them, so we’ll simply work harder than they can!
Grom's power base has called for pilots to sign up to support industrial mining efforts. Pilots willing to participate can register at The Undeniable in LP 855-34
Pilots who register at least 1 contribution by mining Platinum then selling it at The Undeniable will receive the following rewards, regardless of which power wins:
  • 1x Fully engineered 1D abrasion blaster with long range modification
  • Credits, depending on success tier achieved and individual contribution level.
If Grom emerges victorious, pilots in the top 75% and above, regardless of their pledged power, will receive:
  • Additional 1x Fully engineered 1D abrasion blaster with long range modification
If Grom emerges victorious, those who are specifically pledged to Yuri Grom's Power will also receive:
  • 40,000 merits
  • Yuri Grom Powerplay banner cockpit customisation
Platinum mined and sold as part of this initiative will have a 4x price multiplier

The two factions have set out two-week-long operations to establish their positions in the system, which begin on the 1st of May 3311.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before mining Platinum then selling it at The Undeniable in the LP 855-34 system.
This is a competitive initiative and as such you may only sign up to one initiative at a time. You may switch sides at any time by abandoning the goal but note that any existing contributions you have made will be invalidated.
Commander power pledges will be taken as the pledged power at the time of initiative completion.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.

This is totally unfair CG.

Everybody can find easily "Rhea's Resilience" megaship in LP 855-34.

But... "The Undeniable" is reveled only in very close range.

Even Nav-Beacon can't reveal "The Undeniable".

Almost of CG participations are not Powerplay users of Grom/Winters.

So it is high possible that almost of participations will just throw Platinums to station that they can find easier.

It took me a while to find it, and only because I checked this forum...
...then, when dropping out of SC, I was 50 km away from it, and had to fly through the rocks...was almost expecting some Kumo Crew pirates to have set an ambush..!

Not sure if many like it that way, but right next door (34Ly) is the system Delkar, with a combo High RES + Platinum Hotspot for higher yield at Planet 7A.
I will outfit my mining Corvette with dual C4 beam + shield + SLF hangar, then head there for the extra challenge.

For the way back to drop the platinum at the CG system, I am also considering transferring to my Cutter with ultra strong shield...but would the cargo still count as "mined" platinum?

Before this CG started, I made it my business to locate the two stations in the system so that instructions could be inserted into the CG text. At first, I couldn't find either station as nothing was listed under the Points of Interest tab. Thinking maybe I didn't have all the cartographic data required, I did a full FSS scan of the system and checked again. Then relogged to Main Menu and checked again. Then completely exiting the game and checked again - neither of those stations appeared. BUT I did remember seeing the names as I carried out the FSS scan so knew they at least existed! There had even been some suggestion that they were in fact planetary bases, so zoomed in to each planet/moon to get a better look. Finally, I tried looking on the Navigation Panel - and almost immediately saw Rhea's Resilience and targeted it. Found it in the planetary rings of planet 1! Continued checking the Navigation Panel, and found The Undeniable, targeted and traced to the planetary rings of planet 2.

OK, took some finding (mainly because our information stated they were both planetary bases, so that didn't help) - and I certainly don't 'do' Powerplay, but that wasn't a factor.

Both bases were found just in time for me to update these forum threads minutes before the CGs went live.

I tested again by using my 2nd and 3rd accounts. And now two stations are revealed right after entering system, unlike your and my experience. It's good. :)

Has the sub-surface launcher stopped working for anyone else? It's just bouncing off the deposit. Was working fine a few days ago to mine tritium. Maybe I'm missing something, as usually I just laser mine platinum.

Seems the module has been renamed in the fire group panel and the fire groups? Perhaps that's what broke it, if it's actually broken and not just a PEBKAC.

Did you accidentally equipped the other sub-surface launcher meant for harvesting bio pods from titans?

To be sure:
Sub-surface extraction: for titan rescue
Sub-surface displacement: for mining

Gosh, I'm an Aisling guy and even I can see this is stacked. You EG pledgers may as well put on a Winters hat just for this CG so you can get the additional engineered abrasion blaster because there's not a snowflake's chance in hell that you're going to get the 40k merits and cockpit banner.

There is no Planet 7A!.

BTW it is planet 7 Ring A - just in case you try Ring B (which is never Metallic BTW).
Correct, planet 7A means the inner ring of planet 7.
Planet 7 A means the first moon around planet 7.
This is the official way to write this stuff :)

BTW, you need a surface scanner, then shoot probes at the ring(s) to reveal the hot spots.

Yep. Not even sure what I was doing... Went to the completely wrong system. I blame the time being 2AM (sheepish grin).
