If Frontier had really wanted to make this competition fair instead of a forgone conclusion like it is, that would have made the reward for this CG be a different class of long range fast kill warrant scanner or a long range fast wake scanner.

Frontier, please change the reward for Winters to be competitive!

Would be nice if they even took the time as to mention this anywhere, at all, in the description of the goal. Simply change "hand in" to "provide to the Science facility" or however they'd like to phrase it. As it is it's entirely opaque/mystifying, to the extent that I tried exchanging some of the relevant materials at the Material Trader to see if it made my total go up.

However now having said that, maybe there's more than meets the eye....:unsure:

I do not think it is time for doom and gloom just yet.
  • The weekend will probably bring more players and more time to play for the more lore focused commanders.
  • As the other CG gets higher it will get harder and harder to get top 75%, and their momentum may stall.
  • Players may switch sides to maximize their credit profits once their top 75% is secure.
  • Players supporting this side likely are not doing so for the module reward, but rather for roleplay/lore reasons so may be less likely to abandon the cause early.
On a side note top 10 Cmdrs is around 43K at the moment. My ships are already fully engineered, and ody will probably add new 'on foot' mats for the new ody engineering so i figured why not go all in on the cg. Mission stacking makes refilling these mats easy enough.

President Zachary Hudson has asked the public to contribute to making the Proactive Detection Bureau more effective:​

To counter this campaign, Shadow President Felicia Winters aims to protect personal communications from being intercepted:​

Both campaigns require deliveries of the following data types: unusual encrypted files, specialised legacy firmware, exceptional scrambled emission data and anomalous bulk scan data.​

To support Shadow President Winters, pilots should deliver data to Ito Orbital in the Rhea system.​
​
Should the initiative gain more data than President Hudson's campaign, Shadow President Winters's policy will deliver a 50% increase in stability to the systems she controls or exploits. Hudson's failure is predicted to have negative consequences in systems he controls or exploits, where system security will be decreased by 25%. These effects are expected to last for at least one month before settling back toward existing values.​

Additionally, the top 75% of contributors will receive a fully engineered A-rated Electronic Countermeasure with lightweight and shielded modifications. This will be placed in storage at Ito Orbital by the 8th of May 3307.​

The initiatives begin on the 29th of April 3307 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaigns will end immediately.​
Should both initiatives be completed to the same tier, the one with the highest contribution will be designated the victor.​
​
To earn rewards, you must sign up as an active participant before handing in unusual encrypted files, specialised legacy firmware, exceptional scrambled emission data and anomalous bulk scan data to Ito Orbital in the Rhea system.​
​
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.​

QQ If you join both sides does only the winning side get the reward or both if over 75% ?

Its ambiguously written. Technically in English it says only winning side but usual outcome is both 75% get it....So dont worry, you'll get it if youre in 75% of either or both sides unless its absolutely specified only winning side or must reach Tier 1 or nobody gets it, then only top 10% get it. There is no 'lose' scenario for players in ED CGs, just for NPCs....but they escape if they need to anyway.

Is there a trick to finding lots of data for this community goal? I've been able to scrounge together less than 100 "tonnes" so far, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

So the way it's written, both CGs will pay out the 75% reward module no matter who wins, but only the winning CG pays out the money reward. Am I right?

Huh?
The money reward is always there, it's the surveillance part and the module that will depend on how FD meant the wording.
