A few players went into Mobius and killed other players and a few members of the community blew it way out of proportion.
FTFY.
A few players went into Mobius and killed other players and a few members of the community blew it way out of proportion.
woah! Well that was a read-a-thon.
Doesn't this all boil down to killing or being killed by a player is fun for both sides, or at least produces a raised heart beat, and a possible brown trouser moment. But doing this persistently even after steps have been taken to stop it with private groups etc., that just makes you an orifice of some kind.
Carry on....
.....but the rest is simply silly. Banning people for killing charity streamers?
That's a fair point. Unfortunately they are a vocal few who compares "invading" Mobius to literally murdering people in real life.FTFY.
While I can see where your thought process is with this, people often conveniently neglect that we are making a lot of these streams much more exciting to view and we ALWAYS donate to charity streams that we snipe. We aren't trying to shut the streams down we are just having a bit of fun and often adding some excitement to the stream for the viewers. When we cross paths between Virtual and Real sometimes we need to remember where 'Respect is due'!! charity live streams and events are generally there to selflessly serve the greater good of real life and often vulnerable people and those who attempt to disrupt these types of events for whatever reason have no morality; they may as well pop round to my house, wait for my son to come out and go kick him out of his wheelchair and smash it up just for giggles.
I personally don't stream so I wouldn't know. From experience I can say that when you mess with big streams some of the audience calls you an <Ahem> and some of them call you a hero and think it's hilarious but overall it usually causes a surge in activity/ the amount of people actually paying attention to the stream. Whether they agree with the manner or not, excitement is excitement and you can't claim it doesn't happen.More exciting for the streams intended audience or for your audience?
They're probably different people. I doubt they come and mess up your streams - do they?

Do you even understand what EVE is like? High-sec systems in EVE are actually high-sec. I don't think anyone is advocating turning Elite into a 24/7 gank fest.

Seems reasonable all around. Group owners should be fully responsible for enforcing their own rules, but once they've taken all reasonable measures to keep someone out of their group, any further attempts to gain access to the group can and should be considered harassment.
There's your fundamental disconnect. We interrupted an in game event to help a real life cause. If you can't distinguish the two then perhaps you are TOO immersed in the Elite universe to not realize that we are spicing up a GAME for a real life cause. Kicking disabled people isn't part of a fun-run, clubbing seals is part of the game.OK, so there's a disabled event in your local town or area doing a sponsored fun-run for a good cause, you'd be ok with rackin up unannounced with a few of ya mates, kick a few easy targets out of their wheelchairs for laughs assuming it would make things more exiting for everyone and then think it's ok to pass them a quick tenner or more for their troubles and to normalise your actions? Oh, I'm pretty sure as you say it would draw more of a crowd in but I'm not convinced it's for the right reasons. I don't suppose you've thought, or had the respect, to speak with the charity streamer(s) up front first; I'm sure you might be right as you say and most wouldn't mind but are you and your crew then the kind or persons to leave alone the ones who ask you to? ......mmm

It always irks me to see users such as yourself bring real life morals and values into this forum and make assumptions about the type of people we are when you truly don't have the slightest clue. We range from career stoners to surgeons to those serving our country and you have the right to make assumptions about our upbringing and values but you should also know you are dead wrong. We are simply able to separate our actions on the internet from our lives off of the internet. Perhaps that is something you should look into. Messing with some people in a game that not only allows it but advertises it != kicking someone in a disabled charity event. Anyone in their right mind can make that distinction and perhaps you'd be better off not making assumptions about the character of those you interact with. The only universe I'm too immersed in is that of RESPECT; a universe I suspect you and others like you were not born into or bought up in.
Realistically speaking, serial killers are very much a thing and space provides a huge boost in the viability of becoming one. Does the security system being so lenient make that number a little disproportional? Possibly. Is it realistic that there are murderers and serial killers doing it for the fun? Well of course considering they already exist and you need to keep in mind that in the lore sense of things they aren't even really murders or serial killers, they are people who enjoy blowing up ships and allowing the pilot to escape to fight another day.But if a whole bunch of ships come at me with no warning and destroy me in 2 seconds that just pointless for everyone and plays a part in ruining the realism for me.

Proven fact by psychologist .
Says every 1st year psychology student.
The way you act in a role playing game shows who you realy are . Proven fact by psychologist .
In order for something to be a proven fact it needs to be at the very least sourced yea? Considering I can think of many different ways this is already wrong I'm going to assume you don't have a source. If you're going to argue a point atleast don't make things up.The way you act in a role playing game shows who you realy are . Proven fact by psychologist .
Which field of engineering? Are you still studying? So little information and a completely irrelevant response at that.Just to let you know i am an engineer .
From the reactions to his last couple of posts I'd guess "social". Seems pretty good at it, too.Which field of engineering?
