Swan or duck, what do you prefer?

That's surprising, at least in Europe, ducks are everywhere, there is at least 10 species with over 100 holders. My local zoo, Chester, has 21 species of duck!
I think it boils down to why you want the animals. If I was to ask for ducks, I'd want common garden ducks to fill up natural ponds/lakes with rather than 'exotic' ducks that IRL would probably be in an aviary. Common mallards and white-faced whistling ducks would pretty much cover the whole world.

That's also why I prefer the mute swan over other species (though the black swan is a close second); mute swans exist all over the world wherever the British have left a mark. They're perfect for putting into decorative bodies of water just as a scenery piece (as a habitat animal, you could fudge it in sandbox by turning off escapes and using a null barrier).

I want a duck that says "Woo hoo hoo" and can get blasted but suffer no side effects other than a hurt ego.

And if not, then a duck. I can picture a whole flock of ducks quacking together while eating quackers and cheese in a pond they share with some alligators, only separated by a chain link fence between the 2

This is a hard one for me
Pros for swans: bigger of the 2
Pros for ducks: there are several types of ducks that can add a lot of color variation. There seems to be a larger variety of ducks requested on the meta list more then types of swans.

Honestly I’d prefer a natural duck pond as a WE and a habitat for a swan

At least one duck (mandarin), one goose (nene), one swan (black), and a southern screamer. Maybe unreasonable but then Frontier didn't need to spend three years adding more carnivores.

If they made something like a walkthrough exhibit that was actually a pond with other slots for turtles and/or frogs, I would not mind ducks in a WE. It would be a fast way to get a bunch of them. I would prefer them in a habitat either way, but a large pond exhibit would be better than none at all.
