System Scan Complete

When you complete your FSS business you get a lovely "System Scan Complete" message. Why is it then when I fly around and do a DSS scan on all the planets and moons do I not get a "System Planetary Scan Complete" message as well? It would be a lovely failsafe to ensure you don't miss one.

I know I can check via the System Map and the Navigation Panel to see where I've scanned and where I haven't. But an audio/text message on the screen would be nice and tie everything in to a neat little bow. If I'm scanning the last planet/moon I'm expecting to be scanning in this system, it would be nice to have confirmation of that once it's done.

no answer but a good

question

When done scanning with the DSS? Or when done probing all planets with the FSS?

Game says when last body was scanned with DSS

I typically hear this when there are only stars in a star system, even if it's just one.

It won't say that if there are planets or moons in the system.

Essentially, if it's telling you that, it simply means there are no planets to bother with.

That's correct. You get a notification if there are only stars. But you get the same notification when you've scanned all the planets in a big system with the FSS. You don't get a notification when you've scanned all the planets in the system with the DSS, and that was my point.

It gives you a notification when you reach 100% with the FSS. But there is not 100% system completion notification with the DSS. You get a notification for each planet or moon, when that reaches 100% with the DSS. But nothing to say you've scanned every planet and moon in the system, which i9s why I made this post.

Good idea, but not really worth allocating dev time. With all the third party tools at our disposal, it isn't needed. That seems to be the case with many things the API and journal files make possible. Why re-invent a wheel when someone else already made it for free?

I expect the same result for a suggestion I made about adding first footfall to the DSS interface. It's unlikely to happen.

Do you know of a third party tool that does this?
