Talk about stacking the deck....

While on paper, the new CGs appear to give the option of removing an Engineer, and the massive impact that would have on the Engineering stage, Fdev have decided only one side shall get a super special rare piece of kit you can't get any other way, while the other is just expecting you to be loyal. So, of course everyone will flock to the Engineer's faction's side.....

So much for actual choice.....

And before anyone mentions that the Empire will lose a single system, in the grand scheme of things, does that really matter? Happens all the time in regular BGS, and barely anyone bats an eye.
Are you suggesting that players are so shallow that they would throw away story progression for a small trinket and henceforth never complain about feeling like Elite doesn't have a story or that players don't make a difference?

I mean, the results are speaking for themselves.....

Certainly.... being 22KLy away makes it a little difficult though... By the time I've jumped back it'll all be over 😭

Maybe the time for stalemate between the superpowers is coming to an end, and in the coming months there will be movement to real war between them? Reading between the lines of the trial and assasination it does appear that both superpowers are about to be put into turmoil - how refreshing it would be to watch the bubble burn in a superpower war, and if the Devs are smiling on us, the Thargoids will return right in the middle of the furball

From chaos, opportunity.

Well, I'm on the Empire side... in a Stygian Red Federal Corvette :D

for the story mostly - a half baked missile rack can't compensate for the mystery path that lies beyond the Empire winning this one
I mean, I'm purely on the Empire's side in this because I don't want to see the Empire broken down piece by piece, even if I despise the current ruler for getting in bed with the filthy feds against the 'goids, when it was their own mess and we should have stayed out of it. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, afterall (the enemy being the feds and alliance).

Hmm, that missile rack would go nice next to the HC penetrator seekers and HC drag frags on my bubble cmdr's Cobra.. and I'm no fan of the superpowers so hmm..

Actually everything I have seen so far has been about people picking their preferred in-game 'side'.

If the Empire loses then it's just because people have good taste :sneaky:

The story progresses either way, it's just that one path has an immediate and tangible reward, while the other is more abstract.

You do know what a choice actually is right?

As you have described one, for this CG do you
Choose loyalty
Or choose freedom
Or choose law enforcement
Or choose the mafia
Or Choose a toy
Or choose credits
Or choose neither

Other people having a choice that may result in an outcome you did not choose does not mean you did not get a choice.

It is not like you have not already posted in other threads where people are debating which side to support.

They are community goals not Mrat13 goal

Then why not have a shiny shiny for both CGs? Explain that.

well well well, what do we have here? Looks like Mrs. Ryder is in bed with the NMLA terrorists after all: An Enzyme Dumbfire missiles, fired (presumably) by Eurybian Mafia ships... (honest question here: Has anyone ever seen NPC firing that sort of missile in CZs?)

It is to the player base.....

Is it?

No threads here about defending the empire or sticking it to slaver scum.

I guess they arent part of the player base.

I guess you are right

Both need a shiny shiny
Both need the exact same reward
Both need the exact same lack of consequences.
Heck just have the same payment to both sides regardless of what tier they reach.

That will solve you problem with the CGs having any risk of being possibly perceived as having the desk in favour of one side over the other

That was the choice you demand really really matters.

Yup, since the update that added the CZ scenarios.

Also seen them in Pirate Activity Signal Sources.
