Thank you frontier for punishing the exploiting scum and finally making Open safe again!

Yup I did a little bit of 5 for 1 of several blueprints to get a grand view of how the RNG works. I already had good rolls for all of my ships months ago but didn't really play the game much anymore in the past months. Ii don't really care, even if they reset my account completly, my time in ED as a player has gone a long time ago, but I want the more severe exploits to get punished aswell (mainly combat logging, heat abusers and premium glitch abusers... Money has no value in this game and you're bamboozling yourself by grinding it).

So not a player just here to moan on forums; helpful.

Who the heck are you to lecture us on cheating when you admit you are one yourself?
No, your excuse of "doing it just to investigate it" doesn't wash with anyone!

I will gladly eat a complete ban to drag all the combat loggers and heat abusers down with me into the pit of hell, so my friends who still care about this game don't need to deal with these.

They only care to police the game when a certain threshold of complaining is reached.

The threshold is obviously quite high due to the current din level of gnashing teeth, moaning and wailing going on... It should be a requirement to have hearing protection when reading the forums.

Trust me, you'll be last in line to be given that job, talk about putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Firstly,FD saying quince is as intended but they might look at it further

2ndly , they may do more in future re: other exploits

I do hope they start doing more in future. Leave no exploiter unpunished.
Quince is not intended, you can avoid the data mission limit using a glitch, and you can complete all the passanger missions by scanning a single beacon, again a glitch since the missions clearly state that you are supposed to scan a different one.

But money exploits are the last on my list. Money has no value.

Earth makes a good point though; up until now I would have said that Fdev was incapable of policing their game, but obviously that was incorrect. They only care to police the game when a certain threshold of complaining is reached. Now that they have punished those that exploited the engineers let's start agitating for punishment for the filthy practice of clogging along with ridiculous money exploits such as Quince

It took several years for CCP to address EvE's logging mechanic, only after the crescendo of forum tears got so ridiculous, they HAD to fix it. Same with a particular cheat. A corporation was cheating for at least a year or two, making themselves incredibly rich and affecting market prices by exploiting a moon mining bug. The bug was eventually fixed and the whole corporation had their accounts perma banned. FDEV aren't unique in being a little slow to address these problems.

Yes yes and yes, agreed dude. It is not working correctly, but you guys keep forgetting that FD said "all good in quince ,till we change it" . The 1st thing they would have done is,like G5/G1, posted saying it is an exploit, they haven't.

I'm not bothered by how many credits people have or how many missions they stack - Money is plentiful in ED. So not BOverd, nor am I Boverd about combat logging. In fact I'm not bothered about PvP and Fast Cash.

Had there NOT been Multiplayer and OR PvP - then we would not have any of this nonsense.

So you are a cheater. That's not a surprise. And, it's also not a surprise that you would want to point out others who cheat (even when action isn't a cheat. i.e. Quince), so you won;t feel so outed, and alone. I can't see how indulging in a cheat can offer a '...grand view of how the RNG works.". That can only show you how skirting the RNG works.

Your every attempt with this thread is to justify your actions. I hope you manage a way to feel better about yourself. I would like to point out that in all likelihood those that got rolled up in the '5 for 1" cheat, are the worst of the Combat Loggers as well. If you can find your way clear to cheat in one manner, you will have no trouble cheating in another.

From the other plaice...

Further investigations are/were taking place. I can't confirm further than that.

As for other forms of exploits, this isn't something I can promise since I'm not taking care of anti-cheating. We've passed on the community concerns regarding other exploits and forms of cheating that you guys mark highly on your list of things that should be punished. What happens from there is strictly at their discretion and unlikely to be discussed in detail - at least for now.

Nothing fishy at all.

Not really the first thing they did.

A friend of mine has reported the bug on bug reporting forums, several times, and months ago. Frontier never cared.

When I saw the video and went experimenting with mods to feed my curiosity, it took them a day to call it an exploit which is when I stopped like many others did.

As said, I'm completly fine with the way frontier punished this exploit and I want them to apply same measures to all the other severe exploits.

It sounds like you yourself used the Quince exploit, is that true?

Accepted, all the best.

Please stop putting words in my mouth. I'm not justifying anything, I'd be fine with a ban and a complete account reset. Also, as said before, quince is the least that I'm concerned about. I want premium abusers, combat loggers and heat abusers, who have been pestering my friends for months, to be gone. Those have done far more damage to the game than quince or the engineer shortcut.

Again, there is a difference between exploiting an obvious bug in the client to do something that wouldn't otherwise be possible versus exploiting a game system that is working as intended but that has initially unforeseen, and later unaddressed, balancing issues. These are categorically different things, and I say this as someone who hasn't made use of the latter. If people want to go do the maximally efficient thing to make money, even if that is perceived as dishonourable, then that's up to them and their conscience and up to FD to rebalance appropriately (which they've now done, or made a start on). Subverting the game client to make it do something it shouldn't is very different.

Fine summary, rep given.

It is not. I have avoided all of the cash cows since, and including, the "Looking for" exploits at the beginning. I have just under 600 mil in total assests, and I don;t own any ships bigger than an FdL, while playing since release.

This is so, not just because I am some straight laced do-gooder, which I am, but because I play a game to play it. Not to 'game the game'. I don't have to spend any moment justifying how I play or how I earned my Credits. Sorry, you're still on your own with regards to cheating.

For someone who doesn;t care about what's happening, you display some real angst over the situation. Enough to start a thread, and confess to your cheating. How does that work?

P.S. I thought I was addressing the OP. The 1st paragraph still applied to the post quoted above.
