Thargoid Interactions

Here is a fun one carry cargo hope pirate chases you. Go into threat 6 non-human with pirate. Enjoy the npc pirate being hammered by thargoid along with you. Thargoid gets mad with both of you..

Question for the crowd: in your encounter stats what is your Cyclops variants count? Mines 27… and I reckon from the logogram chart that there are a max of 57. Wondering if something will unlock it a Cmdr gets all of them - like when the guardians unlocked after finding all 101 bits of lore...

If you ever want to avoid hostile thargoids go into silent running mode before they get near you and they leave you alone.

Just remember to bring lots of heat sinks else you will cook yourself.

Today I've been hyperdicted by two Basilisk Interceptors in HIP 19361 while on the way to Pleiades Sector KC-U B3-1. They are definitly not limited to Electra any more:

Now, has anyone tried giving one goid a link, a probe, a sensor, and maybe an MA? Maybe they are trying to use their own bases, these artifacts and maps can't be just for us.
(...)

That's one of these ideas that make me wonder why nobody has tried it before (afaik), so I did and also played the 'Unknown Messages'' from the Thargoid Devices. Here's the video:

NHSS6 in HIP 17403 - Not sure where to report this.

Also got Hyperdicted in Hyades Sector NS-T B3-2 (to HIP 15249) - Reported via the form.

Nice, looks like you confirmed the ts/tp/ul trio summoning a second thargoid. I'm going to try playing the ul in the ts system (so that it points to the planet) and see if that does anything. I tried it earlier, but am pretty sure the thargoid ate them before I could play the message, so need to try again.

Sorry if already asked (and/or if it's silly) but has the Xeno Scanner been used on scanning Thargoid wakes?

I just received information about a new CG that AEGIS invites all Cmdrs to slaughter Thargoids in Electra! So this is another stage of the Clubs perfidious plan to engage humanity into war against Klaxians. My proposal is: boycott this CG!

I cannot kill an animal, or alien.

I am not so sure about that. It seems to me that they always summon another ship if there are five or more items for them to scoop in an instance, it completely doesn't matter what kind of items or where they come from.

Wow, do you remember when it felt like every second thread compared the game to a shallow ocean? Now that ocean is inhabited by a Great White Shark and all that people have in mind to do with it is hunt it down and kill it.

Clearly mankind does not deserve to survive.

Another interaction to report

Used a link/scanner/probe in the thargoid base machine and got the 3 messages

Then went to a NHSS 5 spot , dropped the link, and played a message

Thargoid scanned me... launched Thargons and attempted to kill me.... hey ho another idea shot down(as I nearly was :p)

<<thinking about renaming his ship "The Sieve" [blah]

Lol, or Swiss cheese? ;)

*ahem*, as per the sharks, not all of mankind!
Not all of us are killing Thargoids, I & many others haven't killed a single one yet.
Btw the Thargoids aren't helping themselves, they are way too touchy for their own good :p. And their are killing civilian ships, e.g. passenger liners destroyed in some NHSSs, although we haven't seen them do it, so we don't know which faction did it. Anyway, going OT I guess

Fair enough, there are exceptions and I am very glad not to be the only one (my DBX is never armed when I go to play with them). However it seems a majority is more interested to exterminate them or just don't care at all.

It's true that I had to rebuy more ships in the few weeks since the Thargoids are around than all the time before (sort of ironic, 'cause I named my Sidewinder after James Dean's Porsche 550 Spyder, expecting to crash it more often than any other ship ;)). Still whenever it happened, I knew exactly that it was my own mistake.

One more thing that Thargoids have in common with sharks, they are both highly misunderstood.
