Thargoids

It's not quite as you say...^. I like th OP's thinking, but I believe he has fallen victim to two failures. 1) Too many assumptions and some very stretched ones at that. 2) He seems to be convinced that he's 100% right and that his 'facts' bear no discussion. On those premises, I don't really want to get into it with him.

Yeah, You're assuming a lot of stuff, that's is stretching everything quite significantly. This would make a better fan fiction than an actual theory. But that's all it is.....a Theory. Nothing here can be proven as of yet, and as Zennith said, nothing can be proven as fact, it wouldn't be so bad if the theory was even legible. But some of the stuff here......Is just too much

+1 For letting us know your opinion.
Also I do agree with you for the most part, he seemed a little bit too convinced but that is probably because he felt like he needed to defend his thinking in the certain way he did because he probably felt like people were making fun of him.

Seems a bit hard on the OP, he is just trying to play / immerse and gets the proverbial taken out of him. No wonder the forums are slowing down these days (was a time the first 5 pages were posts made today, not anymore....)

I agree with Eruptor, the OP has stated a set of theories as to how he thinks Thargs move in space and compared it to some examples. What do we do with theory? Prove or disprove. He might be right / wrong but until someone proves otherwise his theory is as good as mine. I personally think Thargs move by disrupting energy flows in the time/space fabric and can operate comfortably in inter-dimension voids (eg witchspace). Our FSD's are a poor copy of such technology that require conventional fuel to operate but can be boosted by neutronic energy particle streams. But hey, WTFDIK? :)

Yeh, I guess I've been a bit desensitized, there is much salt on this forum generally (or it could just be the current period, people seem to be getting frustrated that progress on some of the badly unfinished core mechanics is little more than a trickle of band aids that does not affect the underlying issues *ahem, rampant pvp griefing in open), the initial responses could certainly have been more considerate at least of the amount of effort that went into documenting the theory.

So many things I want to say...
None of which I can here.

At the end of the day, we really don't know anything about Thargoid technology. They certainly could be doing something to "our" space to make it more compatible.
Star Trek's Species 8472 did come from a realm of "fluidic space", where space was comprised of matter rather than vacuum, though their ships were able to operate in the vacuum of "our" space.
And the Sphere-Builders of ST: Enterprise were also converting "our" space to be compatible with their physiology, so the premise is not too out-in-left-field. Speculation is certainly fine, even wild speculation based on random and unconnected elements - that's how some of the best conspiracy theories are formed.

And that's really all I can say on this - other than Thanks for All the Rep everyone.
And maybe, sorry OP, but you've become the first person to make my blocklist, and you know why.

Let's just say you are correct ...

What is your point anyway? Sorry I am just struggling to see the point behind it, even if they do turn space to liquid so that their propulsion systems will move them. Can you explain any more?

PS:- please don't think I am taking the whizz or saying that you are wrong either - if you are right then I will buy you a donut, but I am struggling to see what we can do with this knowledge, should your theory be proven true. Does that make sense?

There are over 152 active ships on the ground with over 1000 eggs ready to be shot around. It is common logic to understand the gun before pulling the trigger. - I am studying the means to restart the gateway.
There are two ways to get to Raxxla.

1. To find Ben Ryders Gateway.
2. Rebuild it from start.

If you do have a theory then present it with a document and examples.
If you do not understand what I am saying, then try to study the examples more closely.

Not to worry, There is a way to find out the truth.

Thargoid Technology Research Results

a. The Barnacles are partly a propulsion system alike Jet Engines. They spray green gas which turns space into liquid. After that, the ship which looks like a flower propels itself forward like it was in the water. In other words, the Thargoids consider space as a liquid environment.

(Rest snipped)

Ok, so the Thargoids are turning space to liquid then propelling themselves through it with supercavitation? Or they could just have gravitic drives?

Ever heard of Occam's razor?

Seriously...

P.S. And yes, the supercavitation torpedo is neat. But how accurate is it? I always hear lots of hyperbole about Russian tech...

The Thargoid main drives may operate similar to the barnacles, but what about their smaller control thrusters? The smaller, blue thrusters located on the revolving portion of the undercarriage seem to operate in a completely different fashion.

And if Raxxla is a moving target then we may never find it, unless the Gateway can be stumbled upon. It can't be large enough to actively search for, can it?

Actually Finding Raxxla was not exactly hard at all when you got to right area. The Raxxlans were agressive enough to shoot first than saying hello. It was fairly easy to guess the direction due their act. Closer you got, bigger fleets attack. If you survived the way there, then you were welcome... You proof worthy. It was their extreme terratorial behaviour that gave out their location.. Finding Thargoidia was actually harder because they ignored totally. The Soonji, Dark Wheels planet was pointed when I got to Raxxla and had to take diplomates home... Human agricultural setlement that had gen ship.

The Bens gate was in space and it was able to aim it. It allowed 9 locations to go. It was the only way to Galaxy 9 and the offer was there once. Do not worry about that.

The russian torpedo is accurate. UK has now similar one and improved its design lately. The only problem is that it does not turn as much, but speed is so fast that there is no warning.

At the end of Amiga Version the Game asked a question.

Did you know that all the snake named ships are Raxxlan desing in origin? They were proud lizards... They named ships based on their feared relatives.

Sorry had to rephrace to be more accurate.

So indeed Raxxlans had traded with human before...

This statement is only given to those who truly saw Raxxla.

Yet it seems odd that nobody else ever mentioned this before.

It is the message that closed the game.
