The only thing that's confirmed is that you are thinking about this more than the developers. It's obvious you know your elite lore, I'm impressed, but the conclusions you draw and the bizarre real world analogs shake your credibility. People who don't understand the Elite lore as well as you will read what ELSE you're saying and think you are a madman, even though you are not (probably?)

You used the bug reporting system to ask whether it was a "bug" that the Thargoid ships seem to be doing something that you think they are doing and then, when somebody from Frontier responds to say "I don't see a bug here", you conclude that means your theory is right? [where is it]

Its not that i agree with OPs theory or the way he showcased it (even its way better i could since my english writing kinda s**** hard) so yes... he could/should have started with something like "Grab your tinfoil and get ready for some wild speculations blabla..." but in the end (it seems like) he put a lot off effort in this and some people react like they were personal insulted or something... well whatever i just dont get it
Actual question to OP though, why you telling them "Invasion Ships"?
Besides the reaction of the Superpowers to this being something... awkward... it seems far more awkward to use something for an invasion everyone and his grandma could easily plant a "just in case" Nuke in
