The 15 second logout timer in action

Its possible the gankers are working on their 15 sec countdown destruction techniques, for which Touch is helping them refine and improve. Looks like a symbiotic relationship to me. One of these battles, Touch wont last the 15 secs and face the rebuy.

I think that even with non-engineered components you can last 15 seconds, even if you go silent running and accept the heat penalty. The only way they'd get you is if you waited until your hull was at an extremely low level.

Just more reason we need an open pvp and open pve mode....clearly the two groups just can't get along even to the point of making off site shaming list or w/e that is suppose to be!

Not the dichotomy evidenced here, nor would it be even if the OP's video wasn't a tongue-in-cheek mockery.

Those who favor PvP vs. those who prefer PvE says nothing about who is willing to abuse various game mechanisms or flaws to harass others.

Someone interdicting your CMDR over and over again for an in-game reason is neither griefing, nor harassment, and not a violation of the rules.

Baiting them into doing so specifically so you can log off (which cannot be an in-character action) in order to frustrate them is all of those things.

I assure you I'm not baiting or in any way asking for someone to interdict me over and over. Just making murder hobos into MY emergent content.

It's simple go with the tone of the OP!

I was able to divine the OP's tone by looking at other videos on his channel and recalling prior posts of his in a related thread. I had no such context available by which to interpret a non-literal meaning to your post and I felt that any assumptions without such context would be overreaching.

It depends on weps brought to bear. Beams won't get er done. I've killed loggers within the 15secs, but that's with conda or vette using PAs/frags/mc/missiles. It can be a fun mini game in its own way.

I thought the OP was pretty clear in the humour it displays, dunno but deciding to interpret something soooo literally is making assumptions in of itself, so to summarize, get a sense of humour!

I guess it's time for another Group Therapy session over CLogging....

I'll get the stuffs for the s'mores, the rest of you can get some hugs in, while you sing 'Kumbaya'. It always seems to make you feel better.

I was reading this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/442697-Opinions-on-combat-logging and decided to try out the timer at the CG when sure enough, immediately griefed non-stop by wanted players who want me to be their content. Not wanting to spend 12M a pop on rebuys, I used the timer. It worked as advertised, normally followed up by "friend" requests that turned out to be anything but, and threats to send the video to something called "elite combat loggers" (that's like a shaming site i guess).

Why am I only finding out about this wonderful piece of kit now?

Judging from my own experience with your combat skills OP, you definitely could benefit from the menu logout option.

:D

If i was a game dev that came up with mechanics like these, just to cover up other flaws in my design and by that influence the present and next generations of gamers, i would be ashamed of myself.

Gamers that have experienced a "legit" method to make their character disappear in the middle of a fight with other HUMAN players, thats what is teached here.

Play how you like, OP. If you want to exit stage left then that's a game option.
I checked and it seems the universe, real and simulated has not collapsed due to your logging out so who really cares?

"Watch this!" :) You should have said "watch closely!". It's like a magic trick.

Exactly, I for one propose that everyone starts KOS because it's roleplaying before activating their stealth drives 15 seconds after nuking starting players.

Don't forget to turn your healybeams on maximum inside a station. Working as intended my dudes.

Good point. Many ships won't last the 15 second countdown, so this could be seen as a nice bit of trolling. Either way, I like it. :)

my Emergent Content Delivery Ship could likely handle significantly more than 15 seconds. Althoufh I wouldn't be stupid enough to try several back-to-back menu logs with a ganker to has a meta build. Much like they, I'd fly back to the station for repairs in solo.

In a Beta a while ago we tested this strategy og joining multicrew and what happens to your ship. It appeared that the second I joined another ship in multicrew my ship disappeared. Don't know if this "feature" survived into live build but if so: there you got your totally legit instant "teleport" without any timer.

Cheers
