I think Alec and Sulu have summed it up perfectly!

Although Sulu, 'sheer brutal determination' is far more of a factor than it's given credit for :D

Huge congratulations on your double win Shaye, that's very impressive indeed. As is how close Bruski was in both classes.

I've really enjoyed doing this, this year. Huge thanks to Alec for herding us together, and running a race too! And to all the other hosts for probably losing a lot more of their time to checking entry submissions than they thought they would :D

Well done and thanks to everyone who took part in a race, you've made it a great year and I hope that some of you have gotten the racing bug and will continue to join us in the future.

Considering that at the start of this Championship I'd never raced before, I knew nothing about gravity braking and spiral approaches, was ignorant about 'the best landing pads', had never really bothered with manual plotting apart from when I was out at the edge of the galaxy previously, and couldn't believe how much abuse a trusty old Cobra MkIII would take before disintegrating, I can safely say that I am 'proper chuffed' at 9th place in both classes. Top 10 baby!!
Thank you so much to the entire Buckyball Racing Club for a brilliant year's shenanigans, especially the hosts of each race for the monumental task of governing and organising this madcap bunch of space loons. It's been exciting, infuriating, hilarious, addictive, rocket fueled fun and I can't wait to race with everyone again.

As a token of my appreciation, I'd like to offer a Buckyball Racing Club sew-on patch to each of the top 3 CMDRs as a little prize. @Bruski I know you already have one, but you're welcome to another sir. @Captain-MD and @Shaye Blackwood if you want to PM me your details I'll post you both one out.

o7.

Thanks to Alec for organizing this madness and to every race host for making them all unique and fun. Without you I would have less than half as many reasons to log into this game still.

Huge thanks to every racer showing up as well, without you I doubt there would be many hosts spending time to organize new races in the future. 😘

Edit: Special thanks to @Ozric for making a race where it was possible to win in a Vulture.

This championship has been an absolute laugh and giggle, from stepping lightly into ‘Back to Pareco’, all the way to trying to catch a break & my breath in the season finally ‘last Gasp’.

The learning curve was more akin to a full circle than a curve, however racing up against some absolute legends, has been, well, excellent / brilliant / awesome / an education, so I thank you all for that.

I’m now sitting wondering what to do with myself, now all the excitement has finished, I might have to go and have a look at the current ‘standing challenges’ and apply what I have learned this year and see if I can surprise myself, you never know…….

All that remains, as everyone else has so eloquently put it, is to say a massive thank you to all the hosts for the championship and especially to Alec to putting it all together and somehow managing to keeping everyone, sort of, organised.

I raise a glass to you one and all, till the next time

I could not take part on the last race, but still this championship was AMAZING! 😎
For me as a first timer I had a blast! I've learned alot about route plotting, looking for neutron stars and how (in theory) the 5sec -death spiral approach works.
I will be part on the championship next year, for sure!

Thank you guys for putting that many love and time in each single race and thank you for all participants for the warm welcome to me newbe!

The whole thing has been such fun! Might I suggest something along the lines of a team based race next year? With Pit Crew? Not so inclusive for some maybe. Will have to have a think.

I'm in the process of formulating a series of races at the mo, one of which will involve winging up. I have a bit of an outline, but would happily take on any suggestions you have :)
