The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

I use:

- AMD Phenom ll X4 945
- GTX 460
- 4 GB RAM but i can upgrade it to 8GB

The GPU is only a little bit behind the minimum recommanded resources, but the CPU is much behind it. Someone have experience running this game with old hardware on lower resolution etc. It is still playable?

It's hard to answer that question, because it depends on many factors. You may be able to run the game, but the framerate might be very low.

You could buy the game, try it out for not more than 2 hours, and refund the game if you experience issues that prevent you from playing the game. If you want to go that way, please make sure that you check and comply with the Steam refund policy first.

Thank you. I think i will try it. How important is the RAM? Do you recommand me to upgrade it from 4GB to 8GB before i make the test? Is there a big difference? I dont want wast 50€ for RAM, when the game is still not playable on my computer even with the RAM update.

Surprisely,
run great at medium settings with my old setup :

- i5 4670K 4Ghz
- MSI GTX 760 Oc
-16Gb DDR3 1600MHZ
- Win 10 64b

Win 10
16GB Ram
Intel Skylake I5 6600K
Sapphire Radeon R9 390X Nitro Tri-X OC, 8192 MB GDDR5

Graphic Ultra CPU 90++ %
Graphic Minimal CPU 90++ %

That's not normal? My system should make it easy. It runs liquid, but the CPU load is way too high

Sadly I only have a old Laptop with

Win 10
Intel i5 2450m
8GB ram
Radeon HD 7500m/7600m
1366x768 Resolution

I don't mind low fps, as long as it doesn't decline to much in performance later on. (I play a lot of things with 30 or sub 30 fps)

Yeah that's normal. It does depend a lot on how many guests you have in you're park as well, being at 90% usage means you must have a few thousand guests in there. Right now my CPU runs 60-80% usage with aprox 5,200 guests in my park on ultra settings @1080 res.

my Specs are:

AMD FX 8320 @4.2ghz
16GB DDR3 1866 RAM
MSI GTX 980
Windows 10 64-bit

Switching between 1080 and 2k yelded nothing in FPS drops but in 4k, massive drops! lol (naturally expected)

My current performance is 20FPS with a fully pact scenery park with 5,200 guests in park.

I have 90++ % CPU Load on 1000 Guest. This is Normal? LOL

Hi All

Think i am going to upgrade my PC, mainly so i can play this game. Only issue here is that i want to build a PC that will last a long time so am not being too tight with what i am buying. However, i will need to keep my old GPU for a while and look to upgrade that next year. My question is how will my performance be playing planet coaster with this spec:

i7 6700K 4.00Ghz
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3 M/board
16GB HyperX Savage DDR4 2666Mhz (2x 8GB)
GTX 760 GPU
Windows 7

Any advise appreciated, cheers

I have the same processor as you. It has a high clock speed too with a BASE speed of a high 4Ghz. 4 cores, 8 threads, and a larger 8MB cache compared to other 6th gen Intel processors which have like 6MB cache or so.

I also have 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz HYPER-X RAM too. But I have Windows 10 64-bit OS and an AMD R9 390. I can play this game on 1920x1080 maxed settings.

Not sure about your GPU though. But that's just a short google away.

Thanks Sky

Good to know that the CPU etc. is good.
Mainly looking for peoples opinions on this rig with an old GPU. Don't really want to spend this kind of money and still struggle to play this game as the GPU is too old. I do understand that it will be the bottleneck and will not max out settings, just need to know before the big spend it will run okay for a while.

Thanks

Which topic should we use for these questions? This one or the one in tech support? I used the one in Tech Support, but this one seems to be a lot more active.

Since I cannot edit and posts in Tech Support don't show up, I'll post it here.

My specifications are as follows:

i7 3770
Nvidia 680MX (Runs similar to a regular 670/680)
8GB ram.

Do you think I can run the game with medium settings? I never bought the game during the early bird period because I was always weary of the specifications.

Hello I'm about to buy a gaming laptop but I'm not sure If I can run the game in max settings.

Here are the specs

Intel® Skylake Core™ i7-6700HQ 4C/8T; 6MB L3; 8GT/s; 2.6GHz > 3.5GHz; 45W; 14nm
4GB GDDR5 nVIDIA® GeForce® GTX960M 128-Bit DX12
16GB (1x16GB) DDR4L 1.2V 2400MHz SODIMM (Not sure If I could get 2133 MHz since it's cheaper, maybe someone could help me out with that too?)
240GB M.2 Sata SSD

Thanks for the help!

Hi I'm not 100% sure what you will get but I had a 680 and the graphics I was running at was high and I have a 3770K

I upgraded to the 980ti and found no difference in the FPS. I got 50-55 then over 3000 guests I got 15-18FPS now I get 28-30FPS but I'm on holiday so I have not been able to test the Beta yet. I do have 16gb of ram but you should be fine. The only bottle neck is the CPU as this game is CPU dependant. You will be fine on high.

Hey everyone,

I bought Planet Coaster and I must say it's a great game. I have no issues running it myself since I have a high end system. I would like to suprise a friend of mine and buy the game for her however she doesn't have a very good pc. I was wondering if the game would be playable (even at low settings) on her PC and therefore decided to make a post here and see what people can say out of their experience.

She is running:

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 780 Ti DC2OC 3GB DDR5
CPU: Intel I7-930 @ 2.80Ghz
RAM: 6GB 1600Mhz

The GPU and CPU will be fine to run it on lower settings with a small park size but I am a bit worried by her only having 6GB of RAM. Would you say I could safely buy the game for her as a gift or would it just be almost unplayable. She is not the type of gamer that cares about playing at low or max settings but she just really loves the game after seeing me play it. Any help would be gladly appreciated

Hey all
I currently have got

I7 2600k oc to 4.5ghz
8gb ram
1gb gts 450

I'm gonna upgrade my graphics card . Was thinking of getting the Asus gtx 750ti oc
Would that run ok not to bothered about high settings graphics just wanna play at a decent rate.

I could possibly push to the gtx 1050ti .

I dont wanna spend that much as I dont play pcs games that much plus my motherboard is only pci e 2.0 and all need cards are pci e 3.0 so I will get a slight drop in performance no matter which card I get

I have an old core i5 750 2.66Ghz with only 4GB Ram and ATI R270x. Have no problem to play on low settings (textures on low as well) but even on low, the graphics are quite nice. Currently, I have 3800 guests and everything runs smooth (although cpu is at 100%, ram ony at 70%). Tip: If you doubt about your hardware, buy the game on steam and give it a try. You can get a refund on steam if you do not play more than 2 hours.
