General / Off-Topic The Covid vaccine must be mandatory ?

Well, you say: "None of which could ever pass a vaccine/safety trial, since they contain poison". Well until the chocolate police, get to change things. Decades ago, I said that when they have banned tobacco, (I wonder if it is OK to use that word here?) they would start on the sugar. How long will it be, when a new prohibition era, for things like sugar, real coffee etc. etc., takes place?
We won't need to prohibit coffee. The environmental degradation and over-demand is already doing that. ;)

Going to rant a bit. You can skip it. :)

Applied for the vaccine - was turned down. Too "young". Practically sixty, is too young?

Ok, here's the news today:

2 salient points:
The only exceptions to the deteriorating situation are countries that have advanced vaccination programs, most notably Israel and Britain

The World Health Organization said infection rates are climbing in every global region, driven by new virus variants and too many countries coming out of lockdown too soon.

The facts are as plain as day. It cannot possibly be more obvious. Kudos to the places that got it right.
The only place that has an even better success of eradicating Covid is that island with the volcanic eruption. Not an easy method, but possibly worth trying?
Edit- things about Bolsonaro removed. Too mean.

Edit edit- wait wait wait, forgot North Korea. We must salute that amazing country where NOT ONE single case has been reported, a spectacular success! ( except for the Arduous March Part 2 alert.)

Trying to be nice today. 🎶So how's everybody?

I have a good chance of being exempted from vaccination, it is not for this reason that I will ask the whole humanity to vaccinate for me.

Otherwise I will also ask all the 4X4 owners and all the people who fly to stop immediately because they pollute the air I breathe and risk giving me lung cancer.

I take this opportunity to point out to you , that you who fly often and certainly own a large car or SUV / 4X4, that you are responsible (with other people like you) for the deaths of 4 to 8 million people each year because of your behavior as a super polluter. :)

Tell someone who does those things, my lawnmower doesn't even have an engine in it.
This was my view 12 months ago, it was not well received, people said it was best if everyone hid away at home to protect the virus vulnerable and here we are 12 months later with a vaccine to protect the virus vulnerable and people want to prolong this situation even longer because they want to protect the vaccine vulnerable.
They need everyone else vaccinated to be fully protected. The vaccine drive is working (mostly) though things are starting to open up. When we get the inevitable third wave from things opening up it will hopefully come with less serious casualties and we can make an informed decision on further opening up.

We can't make the "vaccinated now it's fixed" choice as individuals or nations it's step by step, and some of the recent steps have been backwards.

You said yourself that you fly regularly.

But here is not the subject, it was just to illustrate my previous position, it was not addressed to you directly as a person. :)

It is surprising that many people are worried about a pandemic which is not a threat of extinction of the humanity and that these same people are frantically waiting to return to the "world before" which poses a risk of destruction of the fauna, the flora, the climate and ultimately the humanity.

No questioning of all these scourges, on the contrary, quickly be vaccinated to find small personal pleasures as quickly as possible.

The rest can wait, after me the deluge, the saying goes.

Yes in our time if you are sporty and in good health and free from tobacco / alcohol and fatty food, you can say that you are still young.

I know people in their 60s who are younger than people in their 30s. :)

No Patrick, you've just imagined that whilst looking for things to object to because I'm pro-vaccine and that frightens you. I have family in Europe I haven't seen in over a year because I'm not willing to put them at unnecessary risk so I'm looking forward to safer methods of travel.

I'm surprised people worry about a one in a million chance of a bad vaccine reaction when the virus kills one in a hundred even by the most conservative estimates.

It seems to me that you said that in a professional context you fly regularly and you recently said that you will use companies which only accept people who have been vaccinated.

But that's okay, I'm used to your changing positions. :)

UK compagnies skeptical of vaccine passport.

Many UK companies, especially in retail and catering, are skeptical of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's idea of a vaccine passport to help the UK's economic recovery. (y)

The vaccine is the same whatever the place where you live.

The virus does not have the same impact, depending on where you live.

Good news everyone.

Nothing new here.

The name "vaccine passport" is poorly chosen.

I will call it "certificate of status covid" because it presents several options.

Indeed, unvaccinated people will have access like the others.

Provided they present or pass a rapid negative test, or prove that they have antibodies.

The vaccination being an additional option.

Too late Patrick it's all been confirmed now, as the article says it's a nailed on certainty.

"To be the happy holder of this Covid certificate, there are three possible options: having been vaccinated, having a negative test, or having had Covid-19 in the past six months and therefore having developed relative immunity to the virus."

This is what I read in the press articles on the British "vaccination passport".
