Ok, let's question this narrative.
How did it go in Sweden? It is an important question because Sweden has a good health service, and used a different strategy. So let's see if there's something here.
Oops.
Empirically, you are wrong. Quelle surprise.
If you were correct, then your neighbours would see that and copy you. Is that happening?
Nope.
Instead, Swedes are being ostracised as an infection risk.
Do you work in a hospital, or a morgue? How do you know how many are really sick or dying, if the "official figures are wrong"? And if your country is successful, why would they need to fudge the numbers?
To look bad? On purpose?
You think the entire global economy is diving, as part of a plan to get you to hide your face?
Why?
It surely cannot be so bad that it puts people out of work!
This is just more of the same old stuff. It can't withstand even casual scrutiny.
How about comparing to a control? Another European midsize country that did the opposite, like Czechoslovakia, that pushed masks as a national effort.
There is no question that the Czech Republic's remarkable progress on COVID-19 was the result of requiring an entire society to wear face masks.
