The key word would be: "Sometimes"!
This is definitely one of those times. They also had to block scammers trying to push a toxic plant extract called Oleandrin as a covid "cure" recently IIRC.
This is also why the most-used medications for some common conditions can vary, in particular between continents, as US and EU regulations ban some which are recommended elsewhere.

It is a strange one in the UK if you read the press testing is a mess.... But in my straw poll massively accurate of..... 4 .... It's been great. We tested my lad we got a negative result within 24 hrs.
My wife got tested a week later also negstive within 24 hrs. My mate did his whole family using the postal service - using Amazon prime delivery the kits arrived next day he sent them back and got a phone call the SAME DAY with a positive result in one of them..... Who he then got tested at a drive in centre the following day and again got a result within 24 hrs.
The 2 walk in centres my son and wife used were organised, quick and esp in the case of one of them friendly .
I am no fan of this government and certainly not how they have handled covid but I personally can't complain about the testing.
Anyone afraid of going to a testing centre because they are at risk I can only give you my experience. I thought it was fine esp for the drive in type
You drive in a person comes to the front of your car with signs to phone a number .(it is their number. ) You chat on the phone they ask you to open the window an inch and they give you a kit (everyone wearing masks and keeping distance) you drive out of the way, do the test (which is "fun" with a 4 year old) all done in the car. Once done you put your hazard lights on and reverse the process.
But all that said if anyone is worried just do the postal service

I got randomly selected for a test as part of a nationwide survey last week (my dad has had that happen to him twice). The test kit you get sent kind of doubles as an IQ test. It's not super easy.... You have to assemble a box, there are 3 labels that have to go in specific places and at certain times and on top of that you have to book online the courier BEFORE you do the test to ensure you do the test the day it is collected.......
I don't tend to read manuals when I buy a TV or whatever so maybe I'm deficient in manual reading or the like. But I find it very hard to believe that Wayne and Waynetta Ashtray (Brits know what I mean everyone else Google it) would get as far as booking the courier, let alone take the test.
I'm sure it must be different at a drive in test centre though.
It's hard to slag off the government too hard, they are doing their best in very difficult times. Their best isn't good enough, but I doubt anyone would do all that much better. As for the Vaccine (OP), you shouldn't force people to have a vaccine. If someone is ill-equipped to assess risk and decides to take a risk they don't understand, that is down to them and Darwin.
What's wrong with people atm. A guy I know that is someone you'd think is intelligent normally (if you knew him) told me electric cars do just as much environment damage as normal cars because they accelerate harder and the particulates (from the tyres) are worse than diesel.Not to mention the microchips Bill Gates puts in them.

On the masks - I have seen so many different ones on news, videos, etc... folks even wearing bandannas that local authorities seem to be ok with in some places. I will concede to your argument that the mask pictured might not be a "class 2" mask. I think masks are silly unless you are working in health care or dangerous work environment. Going through life with a mask - I'll pass on that.
AH, so that is the sweetener they are using in the Kool-Aid folks are drinking these days.
