The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

Actually you don't have to mine. In beta I bought 7,000 tons of tritium from different systems here in Colonia. It took me about a day or so. That might change when the FC is released.
Okay, so the first guy who grabs that gets it and the others run dry pretty much. As per what Cometborne described.

Stock regeneration on Tritium seems to be fairly fast - every two days or perhaps a bit quicker - so I would guess that after the initial rush wears off it should be possible to fuel up a couple of carriers a day, at least.
Doesn't match what I saw, I parked at Phoenix Harbour and monitored the Tritium availability over the course of a week and less than 100 tons regenerated.

Interesting.

I docked at Morten's, cargo was 1009t, and bought 89t.
Checked back after I'd eaten (about 1:30) and about 40t had come back, which would be roughly consistent with 1.5-2 days regeneration rate.

Maybe Phoenix was more popular for people fuelling their carriers?

I'll remeasure it in Beta 2, anyway.

I never saw any other carrier in system. And it had even two stations with tritium supply, but as said, very low.
Problem is, many, if not most carriers, will start from Colonia so the fuel will be bought out very quickly.

Hear ye, hear ye,

There are now 92 active submissions, plus 10 on the reserve list, so when the active submissions reach 99 (row 100 on the tracker), I will close submissions for the foreseeable future. 100 carriers is plenty enough, considering many regions are rather small, or large but with a very limited exploitable area.

'tis all, folks, resume the course of your activities.

Well thank you for organizing all this. I was on the list, then off the list, so maybe I am in the reserves for whatever reason. Maybe update the list with commanders in reserve so we know to keep checking to see if we are needed.

Still looking to put my FC out NE of Colonia, haven't spent any deep space time in that quadrant.

Fly straight!

You were indeed but someone moved their location so you're back on the live list :)
Yeah it's a bit wonky atm, will sort that out over the weekend.

Well, it looks, I've kind of missed the moment for resubmitting my carrier with the new form and Xibalba is now becoming a bit crowded.
So I submitted for the Tenebrae region.

I'll be keeping a sharp eye out (OUCH) to get on the list. I know my Squadron wants to take part in this in a big way. We'll go wherever we're needed, but our location of choice would be the area of 23 Acheron.

Unfortunately there are already 7 people signed up for Acheron.

DSSA heatmap grid, to better visualise where it would be relevant to park the things.
I would recommend to park away from the beaten path in the core regions, but staying rather close to it in the remote ones.

Ah well, then we'd be happy to go where ever we're needed. Especially as far from the Bubble as possible. Strike that, we'll go anywhere!

Hello,

yes I'm a bit late, but I was not active in the forum 'til now. I heard about this project in the frontier news yesterday. As this matches exactly what I wanted do with my carrier from the very first second - going out into the black and provide a space station for exploration - I happily volunteer for this. I know the primary list is full. This doesn't matter. I will go out there anyway :)

Why are some of the sectors in your map have a red background?

There are still some sectors with less than 3 green carrier markers. Does that mean, that there is still a free slot, e.g. in Errant Marches? Then I'd be glad to fill that gap.

fly safe
o>

I had the same idea of this DSSA thing. It's the natural thing to do since carriers are somewhat like miniature mobile stations. I'm in. Xbox. I'll put mine somewhere on the far end of the galaxy, between 11 and 1 o'clock or so. I like that this is an initiative and the community is in on helping with fuel and maintenance. Names, names... 'DSSA Smack City'... Sound good?

Welp. Looking at all the carriers scheduled to launch from Colonia, I guess there won't be much tritium to buy in June

Anyone planning to go to their target region using a mining expedition from Colonia (as in jumping 500 LY and mine the tritium to refill the tanks)?
Would be tempted to come along on such a ride and help a bit.
