12th of Octorber 3306 - Tenebrae on way to Magellan's Star, DSSA Deus Vult!

Parts of the journey from Eastern Meridian crossing into tenebrae region - always at the very fringe of the arm - had such sparse star density, that my jumps have been anything between 20ly and 69 ly long.
The DSSA Deus Vult! lies over the bright ring of an icy moon around a ringed gasgiant. It's pretty basic, with emphasis on pretty - looks as if the crew enjoys bathing in the reflected sunlight. Not too far to Magellan's Star, even if Amundsen Stars would fit the base camp DSSA Deus Vult! better.

30th of October 3306 - Tenebrae, right on the border to Lyra's Song - DSSA Cheetah Labs

Bright and functional the DSSA Cheetah Labs lies in the light of the systems A-Class. I took a weird U-turn from DSSA Deus Vult to Magellans Star back here, exploring the most eastern systems of the milkyway.
The roughly 12K Ly from Deus Vult! here have been some of the most eventful in my time as an explorer - including a real heattrap, finally justifying the heatsink a brought a long, the surprise of finding a L08-anomaly at Magelan's Star in the midst of ice crystals, that system itself with the colourfull "Magellan's Star" in it, running out of Jumponium (luckily only Carbon), somewhere hitting 1 Mio Ly travelled, and a first-timer for me finding a three-body system of binary stars and a single waterworld, seperately orbiting one of the two stars.
I'll now cross corewards from this end of the Perseus Arm to the Sagittarius-Carina Arm on a historic route. It'll be some time until i hit the DSSA Kitty Corner, and even longer until I'm as far from Sag A* as i haven been at that bar at the end of the ... perseus arm!

Hey there, I have a question:

assumed I wanted to store my ASPX within the shipyard of one of the carriers and get my Anaconda there to explore with it. What happens to my stored ASPX if the carrier gets out of service or even scrapped? Is my ASPX gone then?

As far as I know, once a carrier gets decommissioned, all your stored stuff (ships and modules) on it is moved to the nearest carrier administration system.
Shouldn't be a problem with DSSA carriers though.

So, it only gets moved to another carrier but won't be gone or destroyed or scrapped too?

Not another carrier, but to another system - a station in a carrier administration system, to be precise. But no, nothing of yours would be lost.

Which means you can move your whole fleet and your passengers fleets from anywhere in the Galaxy back to the closest carrier admin system (i.e. Colonia or Sol bubbles), for a fixed fee of 125M Cr (voluntary decommissioning cost) ?

Remember to always bring at least a few O2 refills for synthesis, if you have an A-rated life support 2 or 3 refills max should take you no a DSSA FC, no matter in what ship and no matter where you are in the galaxy.

(Should you run out of materials/don't have any and its too late, you can also call the Hull Seals which can help you scout for and gather the synthesis mats, even if you are running a D-rated support. With the DSSA FCs there should now be a real shot getting to safety in most situations.)

New day, new question:

If I order my Krait Phantom to a carrier I need to switch the FSD. So normally you need to build in a e.g. 5E FSD if you demount your 5A FSD. How does this work on carriers? Cause I can't buy a placeholder 5E FSD there to demount my 5A FSD.

probably that FC has no stock (of any fsd - or can you buy a smaller one?). you have any single fsd in storage to transfer?

good catch!

At a normal outfitters, if you store a core module, you get an E-rated replacement, even if the station doesn't have any in stock for purchase.

I'd guess it works the same at a carrier?
