The epic fail of the epic fail of Beyond!

I'd rather wait to say something about the update. Because, based on the history of previously released updates, what was actually put into the game was disappointing compared to what was expected of them.

Not to mention the beigefication that was just the result of an update. And it is only after more than a year or two that it correction will begin.

I found it easy to do wake scanning. I had a wake scanner and whenever I left a station to somewhere I would scan a couple of Wakes and go on my way. Easy and simple to get the required mats.

If you choose to hang around a station doing nothing else for hours, that's on you.

This is actually a very good tip.

I stick an 0E wake-scanner on pretty-much all of my ships and then I just potter around, doing my own thing, and whenever I see a wake as I'm entering or leaving a station it'll remind me about it, I'll spend a few minutes doing it and, as a result, I rarely have to go and hunt for wake-scans.

Same thing with general scan data.
Just flip through your contact list and scan everything while you're in SC.
You'll collect a lot of dross but you'll also snag a tidy amount of G4 and G5 data for, basically, zero effort.

Yep this is what I do too. It also shows you who the potential pirates are too.

Hmm.

FD have pretty much perpetually underdelivered, now they deliver (from the looks of things) and people think they are overdelivering..

Wp Fd, wp... ;)

Having said that I am seriously looking forward to the upcoming updates, they look fantastic, but sit firmly in the 'it's about bloody time' camp.

Sure, suggestions were made, but you can't honestly tell me it has been this way since day one. Salt and whine weren't always E: D community commodities.
I've been here since day one and I can tell you for sure that it has been that way. And I don't mean "clamouring" in a "salty" or "whiny" way, as you put it, at least not in the beginning. The salt and the whining only came when it became clear that FD had no intention to deliver these things (that in part – like the trade tools and exploration content – were part of the initial pitch and promises early after the release of the game) any time soon.

The demand for fleshed out base mechanics of Elite Dangerous (trading, explorations, bounty hunting, piracy, multiplayer content) always was there, since the release of the very bare bones version 1.0 of the game. The tone of the demand might have changed, but not its very existence.
