The Everspace thread

Played their previous games with my friend Galaxy on Fire (and Alliances). But won't going to get Everspace I guess unless it has way more content and a longer story regarding playtime compareable with Assassin's creed games.

They lost me at single player only.

Multiplayer in Everspace would just end up like Black Prophecy :/

Their lifetime season pass is £182 ! (250 euros)

50 quid more than ED ? And that's during their kickstarter, so it will possibly cost more if bought after release. Wow.

Meh. I've been burned once by these guys in their Fishlabs incarnation.

I enjoyed playing GOF II on iOS and bought both the expansions, but found the iPad screen a bit cramped. When they released GOF II Full HD on Steam, with the promise of the expansions coming to PC as well, I jumped on it. Reached the endgame after 30 hours, bagged all the achievements, and waited for the expansions. And waited. And waited. And waited.

Both expansions for iOS were already there. Both expansions for OSX were released. Bupkis for the PC, where they were too busy concentrating on their new cash cow GOF Alliances.

Everspace does look amazing. It's basically GOF III with Roguelike elements. But in my experience the developers can't be trusted to deliver what they promise. I'm feeling a lot of that lately.

My cash will stay in my bank account this time.

It's a nice looking, arcadey take on a Rogue / FTL style of game.

I've backed it but people should not expect it to be a proper space sim, because that's not the point of it.

Merged the two Everspace threads...There can be only one!!!! <coughs> sorry went all Highlander for a minute.

Mod hat off, I've also backed this as it looks quite fun.

They have now hit their funding goal. If anyone else is interested in jumping in, there is still a little more than a week left.

Wonder if anyone can PM Michael Brooks and ask for a shout out to the Everspace Kickstarter similar to the one Chris Roberts did this week? Would be great to see something in the newsletter tomorrow.

Anyone have a line to MB?

Everspace - Huge contribution from Star Citizen - What is ED community gonna do?

Commanders,

For those we don't know, Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight are currently showing a very promising space game: Everspace. This game is very interesting, considering it is a rogue-like, with death actually helping you to progress in the plot, a lot of action, awesome graphics, and very flashy look and feel.
Now a couple of days ago Christ Robert himself decided to advertise the game on RSI's website. A massive fleet of SC Commanders then starting throwing money at the game (almost one third of the total pledge within 48 hours)!

What are we gonna do? I hope those like me who love every type of space games will give it a go! You can find more about the game on the Kickstarter page and on this page showing impressive images.

I think there is plenty of space sims right now, so won't be supporting them with anything than good luck wish.

I backed it. Looks fun to me. I was hoping our newsletter tomorrow would have a mention about Everspace in it. Would be nice if a bunch of Elite backers were added.

Not backing another bloody thing. Learned lesson from backing ED and SC so I've been schooled enough for one lifetime. Pay on delivery from now on sadly.

Kickstarter can be a tad dodgy in games on promises or delivery dates.

I wish them luck and it does look good, but ED has so much for me that I think I will get this in about 5 years in a five euro sale.

Out of the 3 kickstarter space games I backed only ED is released.

Na, they lost me at freelancer controls. Already paid money for one spacegame that made that mistake.

Have to agree with this. I can't stand the mouse aim anymore, I was hoping for something more like Starfighter 3000 in space. It's a real shame because the game looks great otherwise.

Also, please stop calling it a Roguelike, it's a frigging space combat game with randomly generated stuff in it.

I did that on Dangerous discussion. My thread got moved and then closed instead of merged with that one. But yeah official support from FD would be awesome :)
