THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

How many times did you meet anyone in deep space searching for something? I spent months there and I maybe met one pilot. You cannot seriously think griefers will want to spent weeks waiting for one person in Open to show up so they can destroy their ship :)

If they do, you should actually let them do it out of respect for being dedicated to what they love most :)

I actually saw you at Fisher's Rest last night in Beta (Flying as -=REAPER=-) [squeeeee]

As I stated earlier, I did visit an asteroid base in the Pleiades nebula, and there was no outfitting, shipyard, or livery. There WAS however repair/restock/refuel as well as mission board and passenger lounge.

Without Shipyards, i don't think we have anything to worry about from the griefing children. ;)

You don't have to wait for months if you know that some people are currently scanning for surface structures on a specific planet though...

What about that "pirate" who was holding the camp scan info(granted i think that was RP but I assume he had to actually be there to do it out in Hawkins or Conflux)

There were "pirates" who flew out to Jacques to attack random people and that is much further.

I am also fairly sure that there has been a "pirate" out in the rift area some time back, they flew out in a military geared conda if my memory serves correct.

hate to say this but those people who want to grief will go WELL out of their way to do it. The fact they would have wasted huge amounts of their time to get to these locations and back again, historically, the irony seems to miss them. How mcuh joy do you think one o them would get knowing the person they had killed had lost days of scanning through a totally missmatched fight?

Anyway it has been confirmed they don't have shipyards so that's all good, my worries were that if they could do that, it would allow them to get a max jump ship out to these places, and then summon their no jump fighter.

Mmmmmmmmm, did you ever try to find somebody scanning planet surface? Because this is like finding a settlement that is moving randomly - I would expect it can take you 10 years :)
Yes, every two days I was out to refuel, you think someone can wait for two days hoping I will be in Open, and then I will not exit to menu being in real danger?

Guys, you really should not worry about griefers, they hunt in populated areas like CG's and Shinrarta... How many of you were ever in pvp danger whilst outside of the bubble?

You just completely made my day :)

And ... if I respawn back at the Asteroid Base then I wouldn't have lost too much. This is really the biggest plus about having a base in the region. No longer having to head home just because hull integrity has dropped below my comfort level. Do these bases have basic repair facilities?

Yes they do, I used them more then once to repair/restock and sell cartography, there are things fare more dangerous out there then griefers, mainly myself and my poor flying skills :)

My wife is more dangerous, hands down, than any griefer. I've taken more damage and lost more ships having to stop everything to attend to one of life's little emergencies then to anything else (even my poor piloting skills).

Even the death of Finn McMillan on the edge of the Rift Beta settlement can be attributed to trying to get down on the surface too fast because her 5 foot 2 inch frame couldn't reach a coffee cup in the cabinet. Coffee is, of course, a valid priority so no worries.

I feel your pain brother... Left the game alone for a few minutes and stepped away and got promptly blown up by NPC pirate. Why you ask? well seems there was this YUGE spider than needed killing...

And then, we have cats. The purpose of the ship's cat, apart from looking cute whilst achieving zero usefulness, is to ensure the swift destruction of the ship they are aboard by ripping out USB cables, nudging your "boost" finger, or jumping on your lap and knocking your flight controller to the floor at the worst possible moment.

Don't forget ejecting heat sinks and engaging silent running

I feel your pain, have the same issue in my life. Trying to stop flying somewhere dangerous to open a bottle or jar is never safe.

Got one of those too. And being on call for work just to add another distraction

Here's my co-pilot, Like's to sit right in my way and stare at me judgingly:

However this is not a distraction. Looking at flat thing with colours and moving the moving stick, is a distraction. Have you no sense of priorities, large feeding and petting monkey?

I came back from the store at the weekend to find my cat had launched a training scenario.
Not sure if he's teaching himself, or dropping hints about my flying capabilities!

Exactly why we have a dog.

Can't rep you again, so accept virtual +1 :D

I swear my cat shakes his head disapprovingly when my docking is less than smooth.

I know the Canonn thread guidance is to keep beta-related stuff in a separate thread; thought the same applied here?

I didn't see this as a spoiler type thing because it's not "Science" ;) Just a new station type to check out.

It's just that some people (such as myself) found themselves stuck in Conflux when the beta image was taken, and there's isn't much to do out here.

I don't know what you mean. Hundreds of systems to jump and honk.

Oh yeah, see what you mean now.
