No that was Jmanis as he regularly likes to remind people in the Canonn thread
I agree the Asp should out jump a Conda, but a stripped down Conda always had a larger range than a stripped down Asp. But in general, I still find the Asp to be the more pleasant to explore in.
I really want to like flying a DBX because it only needs a small landing pad and looks nicer than tha Asp, but I tried it recently for a short jaunt out to Barnard's Loop. Unfortunately, the 4A maximum Fuel scoop is really a downer. I kept looking at my fuel guage thinking, "If this was my Asp, I would be jumping by now... come on, hurry up".
I've also made a couple of trips in an Anaconda too. During those, I was pining for the Asp too.
I also travelled to the Conflux region in an armed Python, with around a 30ly range. Despite a slight frustration over speed of travel, I enjoyed it much more than either the Conda or DBX.
Not tried a DBX yet. I like my Annie but the turning rate is too slow and visibility too limited; she needs an observer/copilot position in the chin window. I like the AspX for exploration, the visibility is great, & have both an armed version with 40.2ly and a 54ly unarmed version. However to me the Python is the nicest ship to fly and it just looks like a spaceship should, but mine is an armed trader & only has 23ly so I wouldnt use her for exploration.

Honestly, it's much less enjoyable to explore in. That's my experience at least. You really notice how sluggish it is in supercruise, that's it's exponentially harder to land and explore high mass planets in your srv, that's its a very poor cannon flyer, and that the cockpit doesn't offer as nice of a view. Yeah, you can get a good jump range and safely scan, jump, scan, jump but it's not the greatest for truly exploring (though arguably the best at just grinding out the rank). Once you add an srv bay, a proper shield for landings you may as well just fly the much cheaper and much more suited exploration ships so you can enjoy the experience.

have you tried the long range surface scanner? In most system I've found I can sit a scoop while scanning things until full. I'm also really really enjoying the ability to drop into a belt and scan moons and other bodies while enjoying the view. Greatest thing to ever happen to exploration!
Yep, got long range DSS and light sensors on all my ships apart from the Vulture which is my BH ship & that's got an AFMU instead of DSS (still got ADS though) and wide angle sensors.
