THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Yeah they were available before the event started. Makes me wonder if these are actually what the message was supposed to be, as they were already in place before the event and discovered, and subsequently posted in this thread. Which is why I keep asking who the other characters were, and where they were trying to get to and if they succeeded.

Premonition !!

Yes we were. Healer beams + frags in my case.

Part of spinning off PAC was so that the sheer number of people wanting to get involved could have a place to organise themselves.
CoR were never part of PAC. This was a deliberate choice on our part so we could concentrate on building up our faction's people and ships without having to constantly look over our shoulder or be limited in what we could or couldn't do.

When we heard SDC and CODE wanted to join PAC, we strengthened our internal security to the point where we were almost turtle. We never trusted them for a single second.

We practiced with PvP loadouts, we practiced making and evading interdictions, and we practiced jumping as a synchronised wing.
We clearly got good at the synch jumping, because our flight made it to the bubble, despite module malfunctions in Salomé's ship, instancing issues, and lots of folks trying to find her.

While all eyes were on Salomé, the other 3 flights got through to the destination. We've lost Salomé who is our faction's figurehead leader. The other 3
She has fallen, but Raan, Tsu and Yuri got the secret out.

That will come, but I need some rest tonight. It's been a stressful time these last few weeks preparation.

What I will say is that Drew has some real drama for his final chapter. Being chased, hot jumping, the damage that goes with that, and having to pause to regroup due to getting separated and instancing. I would like to see how that comes across.

Yet you left the "defense" of your faction leader in the hands of others. Why? You saw it coming and you did nothing?

Again - I think, leaving aside 'results' - this was a massive success. The amount of finger pointing (guilty!) going on, the on-going debate, the sheer numbers involved tonight. This was a a huge success. Both CoR, Drew, and even Harry/SDC (controversial) deserve a doff of the proverbial for that.

It is a mystery that has captured me for over 2 years. For some it has been weeks, others many more years than my few. It is not at an end. We have superpowers working together (or are they!?) we have supragalactic organisations (or do we?) we have a lack of trust in traditional institutions, and we have this idea of an imminent threat from a known unknown 'alien'. Its deliciously relevant and timely story. I for one look forward to pursuing it.

I think it went well for Drew...

The only way it could have been better was if he had convinced one of the COR senior members to play the "Judas" role instead of HP.
That would have been a plot twist!!

Anyway, after all the "excitement" of the chase... apart from Teorge, has anything been released by Raan and Co. ??

I think it's time to relax.

It was an interesting and entertaining event. The time before the event was interesting and entertaining.

The organizers managed to get a lot of players involved - in game or otherwise.

I guess everybody had to learn how to manage such an event on the go. In hindsight everybody knows better.

Some players have become part of the lore and history of this game. They should be proud of it.
A lot of players had fun.
We all can, if we want to, read a (hopefully) good book in the (hopefully) near future.

So, thanks to everybody who made this a very memorable event.

for a job well done

Not really. It looks so stupid I just want to forget about it all.

Escaping the Empire but having the most famous ganker on friend list ? Wat ?

That's not quality content , sorry. That's the kind of thing that take me and many others so far out of the game, we just want to stop caring.

We still have Hassan and Luko and Octavia. Don't we?

I highly doubt that. Somewhere it was written, that Hassan and Salomé got married, Luko was a very good friend and Octavia is dead since 3300. A simple guess of mine would be, that Hassan und Luko where on board the Seven Veils...but what does it matter - i really liked Salomé and it stings very much, that she was killed by...well, pretty much a "real life" carbon copy of Octavia. And it actually is extremely disappointing for me

I hate getting attached to some fictional characters...

Yeah, that's why I was following RC in the first place. The stuff we'd seen earlier was going to be Salome's reveal (and a lot of it had already been guessed at already). RC on the other hand has all those files from Metadrive which, while maybe not as revelatory, are likely to ultimately be more useful than Salome's info. Now, what's happened to those files?...

The reaction was "Oh S***! It's HP!" :)

And no, we never for a single second trusted him.
I hope Isaiah's video captures the fight as he was the one in the instance with Salomé when HP got her.

Harry is claiming that it was someone from CoR who winged up with him that allowed him to close in for the kill, and who persuaded CoR leadership to slow Salome down so that her trailing "defence" fleet could catch her up to "protect" her:

CoR PR Branch is going to have a busy few days....

This video from Isaiah says otherwise...

Well, personally the whole thing does seem a little contrived.
And I hope that teorge isn't all there is from this event today.

Honestly, I am glad IRL let me at least be there to see her fly by with escort, and have one CMDR chase me off. I think my "uh oh", which was a mis-send (forgot the /r tag) was captured live. It was exciting, charting the progress on GalMap. I was thinking "yeah, she's going to make it!" and then the light went out.

Id like to point out that on Xbox the organisation was very good, instancing was good, content wasn't great though.

Also that PC players are clearly dumb and Xbox players are not.

Eh, not all are so dumb. PC kickstarted this little wagon.

Fair enough.

But the high and mighty strategist how came up with the plan for no weapons unless you are on a special list (not CoR I know) and who trusted the most famous ganker in the game need to be feeling like the utter tools they are right now.

Nah, if you listen look at chat on there atm, there are still many feeling that they made all the right choices  ... and that the no weapons thing was still a good idea, thought I'm uncertain as to where it helped. I mean, things might have still gone the same otherwise, but I see no evidence of how this strategy worked out helpfully in any way.

Actually what you said makes me right. But who's counting? I think there is Latin for that too. Or it might just be Banksian.

I wondered what was incorrect about your statement too...

All I can say is Guardians of the Universe2 was very good indeed, and if you go see it then stay until the very end of the credits.

Thanks for the tip, planning on seeing it tomorrow.

I actually thonk harry potter and sdc did an incredible job of infiltrating pac influencing the whole thing and pulling off an assasination that is worthy of any film. Ive never been a fan of sdc but for this they truly deserve to be written into elite history well done guys!

And big lolz at the "hey guys dont bring guns" approach and everyone that bought it
