THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I came back to the game in earnest today after a months hiatus, and went to the so called Thargoid Base. All I could say at first was wow, then I started tinfoiling, but stuff as high grade as this is more like "metafoiling" -…

Wouldn't "metafoiling" be beyond tinfoiling in a way that it is searching for the conspiracy behind the conspiracy.

Like saying that X is used by conspiracy Y as a distraction, but it really is FD that uses X as a way to keep players entertained until they finish creating content Z and a clever writer then used that X and Y conspiracy as a metaphor for FD not delivering content Z. Making Y a metaphor for FD.

Coffee, I need coffee.

BTW, did anybody notice that "Operation Sirius Business" got mentioned, and basically advertised, in the newest ED newsletter?

Welcome back Harley :)

I came back to the game in earnest today after a months hiatus, and went to the so called Thargoid Base. All I could say at first was wow, then I started tinfoiling, but stuff as high grade as this is more like "metafoiling" - a new term I coined for some high grade tinfoiling I was doing in a PM discussion. For those who have been at the "Thargoid Bases", which BTW I believe to be downed motherships rather than planetary bases, you will have already seen this, those that havent been to them won't have seen this...

This bit is only a spoiler for the alien base / motherships:
But the Unknown Uplink is a 3d rendition of a galnet logo, or more likely the galnet logo is a silhouette of a Thargoid Unknown Uplink.https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.ne...st/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20170626232307

This bit is a spoiler for some of the stuff in premonition:
Given that from premonitions revelations, we know the club are behind or at least orchestrating and manipulating almost everything, every institute, such as galnet, pilots federation, universal cartographics, it strikes me that they are trolling us with the galnet logo being a copy pasta of an Unknown Uplink. So, one has to wonder why the heck they chose the Uplink as the galnet news broadcast service logo? Do you see the connection I'm pointing at? Is this an easter egg in there that, suggesting that galnet is delibarately kept sparse because it is being used by thargoids to plot troop positions? Is this alluding to another shadow group opposed to the clubs plans, who have more influence in galnet, and are in league with the Oresrians?

And another thing, how in the heck do we, or more specifically the club, know that the Oresrians are in retreat? Are they in communication with them? If they are and the retreat through the bubble is what the oresrians are telling the club is going to happen, why aren't the club getting more alien technology from the oresrians to give us a fighting chance in the upcoming Klaxion incursion? I mean come on, it would be in the Oresrians interests to have a more capable force (us) as we would be able to hold back the klaxians for longer buying the Oresrians more time, and that time would improve their survival chances.

Also, other than the obvious manipulation of the press, how have they kept those base/mothership sites under wraps for so long?

I also find it very telling that any dead / inert Thargoid thing that is found the federation station a battle cruiser over it, yet these base / mothership sites remain conspicuously free of any intact superpower assets... Are the destroyed and glowing green mouldy fed ships found at distress beacons elsewhere the reason the feds are conspicuously absent from the base/motherships?

well Premonition does have the Club pushing the Guardian ruins (presumably the extra large bonus) as a distraction to divert Canonn from investigating something else-whoch could be the Unknown Structures.

the Galnet logo-UUplink easter egg is significant I think, but might have alternative explanations & I don't think there is any evidence on that. It is quite possible that the Oresrians are monitoring Galnet to gain intel on human capabilities and intentions.

Either the Club are allied/talking to the Oresrians, or they have spies in there or monitoring someone who is, or they are using Sirius's "long range exploration probes" to spy on the Oresrian/Klaxian situation, but there is more information about them than I think passive probes could supply. Ricardo Bentonio was saying a while back that there are aliens amongst us, which seems possible; I have my suspicions about Halsey, and Jaques!

You raise an interesting point about the lack of Feds over the US! But while the Feds have been hogging barneys they might step back from being too provocative directly against the goids- it seems that the goids are unhappy with them - they may be aware that the Feds used mycoid against their original scouting party.

Of course we could be reading far more into the detail of all this than is justified

Yes, does anyone find it interesting that being confirmed Thargoid, these structures haven't been put on the "Ripley protocol", and nuked from orbit. The Feds know, or are being handled by those that know, and are probably giving assistance to the Oresrians in some manner.

As to the destruction of the Fed cap ship, it was probably a Klaxian assault to gain intel on the Oresrian sites.

84% Tycoon. Tradexile drawing quickly to a close. Who knew terraforming systems in famine/outbreak could be so easily exploited assisted for so much profit?

83% Pioneer, triple Elite by end of summer goal looks plausible. At least before 2.4 drops and changes all the gameplay.

I know this is a bit..."anti" tinfoiling, but despite the similarities I'm still a firm believer that the Galnet logo is simply a stylized version of the Milky Way galaxy itself. Unless somebody had a nightmare about the previous encounters with Thargoids while designing the logo...

Heh, given how unnecessarily convoluted too many things appear, I treat anything said to non-members, by the Club and their cronies, as potentially just yet another layer of deception, so who know anything about anything... :p

...just as I keep open the possibility the feds planted those so called ambush victims. "Yeah, we had these two old capship hulks that were about to be decommissioned anyway, and cost a lot in upkeep, so we stripped them bare and dropped them here with some jell-o smeared on the hulls - if that doesn't give us carte blanche from the senate, then I don't know what will." :p

I bought the tinfoil factory - you lot find your own.

Agreed on all of this, and have certainly said the first point myself as well (phrased somewhat differently admittedly!).

The Milky Way has only two or four arms, depending on what source reference you use (latest thinking seems to be four), but I think the Galnet logo has eight-like the 'goid ships!

of course you might think that this logo is an easter egg by Frontier since clearly Thargoids are what the game has always been about....

A four-armed version of the Galnet logo would be reminiscent of probably the most offensive symbol of the last 100 years.
I can see how they'd go with eight instead.

Maybe the Thargoids altered themselves to mimic the appearance of the galaxy? Perhaps they worship it? Or it's a horrible coincidence that they look similar.

In further GalNet tinfoilery, I posted a while back about "them" posting hidden messages on the Security/Conflict/Economy/States posts and had another thought: could the systems listed possibly make figures on GalMap? I'm not sure 10 vertices, drawing lines between sequential systems, would yield anything, but with three year's of data, maybe a pattern emerges?

I bought all the tin mines. HA!!!!

Z...

That was my point, of all the numbers they went with the thargoid looking one, and if you look at the picture of the unknown uplink that is a galnet logo....

Can you link to the unknown uplink pic?

I'm just saying that 8 isn't a wildly unusual number to be choosing for a generally circular image - which is probably why it was used for the Thargoids in the first place.
It may be that there IS a connection, but assuming that anything related to 8 means a Thargoid link is, for me at least, pushing things somewhat.

You mean the one in this post? https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ERY-(Part-4)?p=5778616&viewfull=1#post5778616
