Oh my.. this thread is growing quickly.
Just a thought, and the similarities between Ishtar and Kahina I think are really reinforced by her "shedding" of her ship, the Seven Veils, so don't think we should dismiss anything which requires us to compare/equate Salome/Kahina (they ARE the same person right? I thought Drew confirmed that?) to Ishtar. We should probably search Galnet for any mention of people in close relationships with Kahina.
Agreed. The only point I was trying to make previously was that the similarities in the story of Lady Kahina and Ishtar are most likely not a coincidence, and we are being tasked with looking at this mystery/quest in light of that. There is a riddle to be solved within
Salomé and Kahina are most definitely the same person this has been confirmed in the Children of Raxxla story by Alessia Verdi. It's a quick (and great) read and a free download:

Drew mentions these stories are 'unofficial' but I would be very surprised if he allowed such a prominent character to be written about falsely.
"topaz suns and amethysts" strikes me as something that needs to chewed on and hasn't yet, the look of the system and it's planets?
Btw what are the colors and names of the associated gates?
There are 7 steps and color transformation stories in east too, but no linking like Kahina to Ishtar and the seven veils.
This is what I found previously linking the ‘seven gates’ to colours and actions:
First Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Violet.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her belt or sandals. By doing this, she relinquishes her Will.
Second Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Indigo.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her bracelets or jewelled anklets. By doing this, she relinquishes her Ego.
Third Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Blue.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her robe. By doing this, she relinquishes her Mind.
Fourth Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Green.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her Breastplate/Breast Cups. By doing this, she relinquishes her Sex Role.
Fifth Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Yellow.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her starred-rainbow necklace. By doing this, she relinquishes her Illumination.
Sixth Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Orange.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her earrings. By doing this, she relinquishes her Magic.
Seventh Gate:
The Chakra colour that corresponds to this gate is Red.
The Guardian/Gatekeeper/ Custodian of this gate forces the Goddess to surrender her thousand-petaled crown called a diadem. By doing this, she relinquishes her Godhood.
It was only when the Goddess was completely naked, stripped of her magical powers, defenceless and extremely vulnerable that she could enter the eternal cave-like realm of the Underworld.
