Has anyone tried combing all the Galnet articles, extracting all Kahina's quotes, lining them up, and seeing we get a pattern or code or something from the first letters, last letters, crossword, or something like that?
that's what i am doing now, going to do another one for odd posts as well.

Going through galnet from the start found this

Prism Senator Courts Controversy Again!

In a move which is likely to further increase tensions between the Federation and the Empire, a high ranking Lady of the Empire has been denied access to the Sol system.

Lady Kahina Tijani Loren, the Senator from the Prism system, was on a diplomatic mission at the behest of Chancellor Blaine when her Imperial Courier was interdicted whilst jumping into the Sol system.

According to Imperial sources, Lady Kahina’s vessel came under attack by unidentified ships, but fought its way free despite suffering significant damage during the incident.

Federal representatives insist that the Imperials failed to file a valid itinerary, which resulted in a lack of an escort through Federal space. The Empire has demanded a formal apology from the Federation, but so far this demand has gone unanswered.

Lady Kahina was quoted as saying, "I don't like to be late."

Ok let's do some analysis of this Galnet article:

  1. In a move which is likely to further increase tensions between the Federation and the Empire, a high ranking Lady of the Empire has been denied access to the Sol system. - Why the access was denied? Somebody doesn't want her to visit Sol.
  2. Lady Kahina Tijani Loren, the Senator from the Prism system, was on a diplomatic mission at the behest of Chancellor Blaine when her Imperial Courier was interdicted whilst jumping into the Sol system. - That means that the interdiction occurred right after she entered the Sol system. Somebody knew and was waiting for her. Was Blaine part of this, was it intentional? Is he to be trusted? What was his orders for lady Kahina?
  3. According to Imperial sources, Lady Kahina’s vessel came under attack by unidentified ships, but fought its way free despite suffering significant damage during the incident. - You know she is a quick learner, and good pilot. This we know from the book.
  4. Federal representatives insist that the Imperials failed to file a valid itinerary, which resulted in a lack of an escort through Federal space. The Empire has demanded a formal apology from the Federation, but so far this demand has gone unanswered. - Looks like a poor excuse form the Federation. The itinerary was needed for the escort right? But she was denied the access to Sol from the start, this doesn't add up in my opinion.
  5. Lady Kahina was quoted as saying, "I don't like to be late." - This is the important bit and is repeated in another Galnet article. But why she doesn't like to be late, that I don't know.

"Aisling Opens Art Installation on Emerald
The People's Princess made an appearance in Cemiess late last night to attend the opening of Emerald's newest art installation, 'Prism's Shades', a multi-sensory experience that uses experimental light and sound projection technology to stimulate a series of empathic responses from its audience.
Aisling dazzled crowds by dressing in a long-sleeved ruby red evening gown, adorned with painite sparkles. She accessorised with an equally stunning tinted visor, fashionably stamped with Aisling's personal crest.

Surprisingly, the people's princess only stayed at the installation for a little over an hour. Aisling left the show long before midnight, citing exhaustion from her recent activities in the Summerlands as the reason behind her early exit."

There's the piece in question, not sure too much springs out at me immediately, certainly without access to any such device of our own...although Emerald would be an obvious "green" link, maybe too obvious.

Thats the one.

Ruby red. Emerald green. Painite (orange?) sparkles.

Is the personal crest, the ear ring thingy she has? Perhaps blue?

The main thing that jumps out to me is, as has been said before, the line "I don't like to be late" is pretty clearly and blatantly emphasized.

That's partly because that source has duplicated entries for Mar 06 and Mar 09 :D (this is Galnet's fault, by the way)
But yes, she does say it twice - just not actually three times.

My theory on the background story is this:

There is some secret faction in the ED universe, that is operating in both major powers - Federation and Empire (something like Illuminati). About Alliance I'm not sure, could be, they are behind this all. This secret organization is pulling the strings - death of Emperor Duval, destruction of Starship One and Halsey's disappearance. Both Federation and Empire building big battle ships, which can in the end result in global conflict. They are slowly gaining control and power and they are appointing their puppets into key positions - Patreus, Hudson - or maybe these two are part of it. The final intention of the secret faction - unknown.

Halsey's reappearance could be also a ruse. Her babbling about some entities, and the demand of exploration data. Now she was marked as a lunatic. The way I see it, they got what they wanted and now they tidied her up in some asylum on Mars.

Kahina/Salome knows something, that is obvious, and I think she has the power to uncover it all. They are afraid of her.

To cite Terry Pratchett: "May you live in interesting times":D

From the First post, this SHOULD contain all the articles, from 3301.

http://ed.frank-heinrich.net/index.php?title=Galnet_Collection_Senator_Kahina

The archive contains all articles from 3301 if they were not deleted from FD's website before January 3, 2016. It contains all articles from 3300 that I could find in http://galnetarchive.blogspot.com/ . Also, keep in mind that the collections are keyword based. If the keyword 'Kahina' is not in a post, it will not appear in the Kahina collection. I can add more keywords, if required. There is an archive of the entire GalNet at http://ed.frank-heinrich.net/index.php?title=Galnet_Archive on a single page to make global searches possible.

Hmmm dont know if this would count as the missing or Kahina stuff... (trying to be less lumpy frosty;) )

Alternate Rift Location (Re: Lave Revolution slant)

From LaveRevolution:
"Reorte to Riedquat is another used trade lane, but local pilots talk about problems in the Formidine Rift; something to do with an unchartable area of space and ships going missing."
Indicates that the rift is between the two systems.

Old lady describes the RR line in Reclamation:
"Edge of the galactic arm. Take a line from Reorte to Riedquat to the edge of the arm and... keep going"
What the old lady doesn’t give is her point of view (From where is she looking at Reorte and Riedquat and the edge of the galactic arm). Something to mention: in her day a line between Reorte and Riedquat always ran through Diso due to jump ranges.

Looking towards theR/R line from Lave:

When Kahina and Hassan find the text and holofac in the archives – Hassan reads part of the text: “The friendliest place this side of Riedquat” - which is a reference to the Oolite Forum – located in Lave

After returning from Sol – Kahina starts Hanging around with ambassador Cuthrick Delaney who is known for his connections to Lave and Walden [Link]

A now deleted Galnet post from 17APRIL3301 referred to Alien Weaponry moving through Lave and malicious software engineers in Quator [link].

Followed by an 10AUG post about Walden Day which mentions rumors of a secret colony on Lave II and hidden labs on possibly un-plotted asteroids. Oh and Walden clones … Im thinking the medical convoys have something todo with this.

I have been doing off the ecliptic searches of the Lave system in the direction of Diso. Also, searches of the Lave II surface might turn up something.

I had poked around Lave a few weeks ago, but nothing interesting turned up. I do like the Medical Convoy speculation though.

As for the location of the Rift, you present a compelling story, but we've already been told that the maps we're using that name it are "more or less correct", so that's basically a settled issue, I think.

Regarding the Galnet article where Kahina is given the Gerasian Liquor (https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/310bb3da7024bf764d4af6bba1321447e92d681b), we're told that it's been recently outlawed in all of Imperial space. Isn't that really weird?

Frontier themselves say "In the Empire, very little is illegal but many things are frowned upon; excessive use of narcotics, in particular." (https://www.elitedangerous.com/en/story/galactic-superpowers-empire)

What's up with this liquor, and why was it made illegal in Imperial space? Is Gerasian Gueuze Beer illegal in the Empire?

Edit - The quote “They really needn’t worry, I’ll drink it all before I get home.” is really standing out to me, and I don't know why. Google comes up with nothing special.

Now that is interesting. I remember reading that back before I was familiar with Reclamation or who Kahina was (as a Senator, I imagined she was some OLD lady). It struck me odd, even then, that there was an alcohol that was legal in the Federation but illegal in the Empire. You kind of expect that to be reversed.

(metahat on)
Ya I agree - Im suspecting the storyline has evolved due to player input ... but I think ... atleast in part it was pointing here originally. The Kahina trip to Sol and the "late" references are pointing to something else I think.

Also, I do not know if it has been spotted by anyone before but here it is :

Kahina, the berber queen, was vanquished by Hassan Ibn en N'uman.

Coincidence... ?

And on that note her other names in that story are Dahiyah, Dahia, or Dhabba, dunno if that helps.
"on the eve of the final battle, the Kahina ordered her sons to go over to the enemy." and she was a quitter apparently
would be nice if this was a connection as it would take it somewhere other than the Greek myths, the Celtic legends are ripe for use as are some of the south american ones.

As myself and others have tried to argue above, the meaning of the name, its etymology - which we have been told to look at by Drew -, has got nothing to do with the historical figure called Kahina (the 'berber queen').

It is the plot of "And Here The Wheel". The intention is to make sure that humanity is ready to withstand that-type-of-[alien] invasion.

Nice vid, as always!

One point regarding the Biblical allusions in Salome's message, that I don't think I've seen pointed out here: The specific scenes in the New Testament that are being referenced are not specifically messianic in nature. That is, while they are spoken by Jesus, they are not ones that set him up as a savior; they are ones that set him up as an example - a teacher, sending out his pupils to go forth and carry on his works.

I think that the message to be derived from the Biblical allusion is not that Salome is a spiritual leader, but rather that we have seen her life, we have seen her values, we have seen what she has done - and now she wants us to go out and do the same.

Edited to add - And specifically, she wants us to go out and do the same in a sense of peace and virtue, but not necessarily "innocence" and the foolishness that that often implies.

I know, still, a nice coincidence. (when looking at etymology of kahina + hassan => nothing)

Anyway, I started going back home.
Which means crossing the rift (and this time, trilaterating it all). I might have found an easier way back than the one I used for the my first crossing. (maybe only one FSD boost with the Anaconda).
