I am posting this here so as not to burden Luke's thread with tinfoilery when he posts it.
PDL* Theory #509
I will not go into extreme detail but my search started in the Prism system and it's alleged significance.
Prisms led me to Emil
Wolf, an optics physicist, who has written a book (published by
Cambridge Uni Press) about light (
enlightening visit) polarization. Light polarization in astronomy led me to spectral lines (...
read between the lines?) and peculiar stars, whose (undescribed) spectral peculiarity is denoted by
3 dots (...). While reading on peculiar stars i came upon a speciffic one named Epsilon Ursae Majoris;
Alioth (Alliance shines light on Prism Senator), which happens to be the 31st brightest star in the sky as seen from earth (Ulysses 31? nah...).
And that's as far as i have gone with this theory. What i cannot understand is whether we can use star spectra to get something usefull out of this theory, which, i will be the first to say, seems too far-fetched and plain wrong
On a side note, in the "Alliance shines light on Prism Senator", we read : Alliance representatives from Alioth have extended an invitation for her to visit their star-systems with the assurance the her trip will be free from
“bungling bureaucracy, petty-minded procrastinators and deranged docking debacles.”. Does anyone else find the quoted phrase and specifically the choice of words used, strange?
" b b, p(-m)p, d d d."
