So I have just switched over to PC from Xbox (where I was sitting comfortably in approximately 600mil assets), and man, lemme tell ya, I miss my console controls. I still haven't dropped $ on a HOTAS, so I've been using a gamepad. Man, I've almost got this set-up exactly how I had it on Xbox. Most of the face buttons have the same functions, such as engaging my FSD, landing gears, cargo scoop, etc. The problem however, occurs when, for instance, I hold B + D-Pad Down to engage my landing gear. 100% of the time, holding B will engage my boost. On Xbox, tapping B would engage the boost, where holding it would bring up my context menu.
These weird quirks seem to translate into just about every other aspect of controls on a gamepad. Switching targets (Y+Left/Right) doesn't work. Instead of cycling targets, it resets back to the original target as soon as I let go of Y. So in order to switch targets and scan, I have to hold in Y+Left/Right, while managing my ship so I don't lose line of sight. WHAT IS THIS!?
Am I doing something wrong, or is this just the reality of switching over to PC?
sidenote: I really miss the rumblies
