CMDRs Log Stardate 210801

Previously

This may be the last log for a couple of weeks while give the crew a chance to rest before heading corewards! We stopped off at a number of worlds. We received an update for our sensor software finally. We are now more aware of stellar phenomena than before. It still bears some testing.

This ice world has minerals embedded in the ice that give it an almost quartz like look.

As a methane world we picked up a typical methane loving plant sample.

At first we wondered whether the colouration would make bacteria harder to find. Obviously not!

Our next stop-off was a world holding geological wonders, being so close the star put the temperature way over a thousand degrees. Alarmingly, the latest software no longer has safeguards on exiting the vehicle in such temperatures. We tried it - it was not pleasant to feel our insides baking... I don't recommend it.

On another note, the stellar outbursts piqued our interest.

Another world close to it's star! Somewhat less hot than the previous.

We were sort of glad for the dormant features. It was hot enough without lava making it hotter.

As you can see - just over a 1,000k - a temperature the suit is in no way able to help in countering. We estimate that you may have around 30 seconds before this kills you.

In the same system we stumbled across a world with 9 bio signatures and have settled down to catalogue them. The gas giant parent can just about be seen even though the Ammonia atmosphere is less than 0.00 atmospheres.

Oh - Health and Safety had a word we me. I am no longer permitted to wear my cool shades when doing EVA on the surface. Bureaucracy! What to do! I guess you are going to have to get use to my lovely eyes.

Guy in a space suit exits the scene after stealing all the model people from the model village....
Good catch=)))
Well, looks like that the same commander have already visited the original Dav's Hope site - there are no more materials spawn there.
A bit deeper investigation shows that the same commander on the screenshots was the initial opener of the Dav's Hope original materials supermarket back in January, 3303. He have never received any fees from the not-so-grateful customers (where is my rtx3090?) since that dates and arranged the affair with developers to cut down the supply line. Could be a good opportunity to close - finally! - the most shameful page in the logs of that particular commander....

Joking (partly). In fact as usual the height of the material spawn points has been messed once again (in Odyssey).

Obligatory screenshots:
Point of no return - well, don't forget your shield keybindings before jumping from there (my case)

What planet is the red one ? I must go there

Sorry, I don't know exactly - I'm really terrible at keeping track of systems visited. It's somewhere close'ish to Barnard's Loop. Not that that helps any.
A built in journal in the game of systems visited, planets and discoveries would be a cool addition. Like the quest journals in Bethesda's TES.

Frying Tonight!
