CMDR's Log stardate 220121
Previously
Good morning CMDRs. Having found the gap between the arms already heavily visited I decided to move a little further away. Approximately 2158.6Ly away to be clear.
Starting time and system...
Arrival.
That's 36 minutes to traverse over 2kylies in 47 jumps. The distance and scarcity of stars in the gap reduced the average jump distance.
And yes - scoop jumping was in full effect, although I must admit to losing a few seconds here and there. Fat fingers and distracted concentration. Thankfully nothing untoward happened and the ship is fully operational and completely undamaged.
We picked, at random, an unremarkable system and I can confirm we are now in uncharted space.
Now onto the process of real exploring!
Combined with a little botany, we get to explore strange new worlds, new life...
The Sanquineous Rim is not too far from inhabited space. You can even still see Barnard's Loop!
Vegetation on this world is plentiful.
And the views are spectacular. That NGC cluster sadly cannot be reached. There is a block on our navigation locks that prevents us plotting jumps. We wonder what mysteries it holds. I guess it's going to be taunting me for quite a bit of this trip!
It's all good, CMDRs. o7
