The great big Odyssey Screenshots thread

Trying out some exploration collecting some plant life samples, And first planet I land on gives me First Footfall and a nice red sky (this was the day side, a long way out from the star).

Today was all about the geologically active features.

Any closer than this and the temperature starts to rise. However, in this state it provided enough heat to make it to freezing. When it's fully active it would be over a thousand k.

We finally reached our first goal: A world we visited well over two years ago. We are afraid of that Type A star just over the horizon. Though unremarkable, this 2g world holds a special appeal.

It's mine. All mine. My precious!

The next moon took a few jumps to find.

This time - we had a sense that the sensors were not lying to us. Water Vapour vents and Water Geysers.

This world has deep gashes carved into it, scattered across the surface. The ground underneath me is solid ice. Finally, after a rest and the sun set, we found what we were looking for.

You had to be there, though, to hear it!

Out in the middle of nowhere, where I found the most earth looking atmosphere yet (0.08 atmo with 92% sulfur dioxide and 8% carbon dioxide), the planet had some awesome looking plateaus as well. Almost feels like home.

I really like that mountain formation, it looks so real!!! However As I've pointed out a few times they should tweak a bit the atmospheric engine to make terrain and horizon blend better in terms of colours. That blue haze on the mountains shouild have a bit of the color of the horizon and vice versa. It seems terrain is not affected by the same parameters as the sky. It's visible to more or less degree in all planets.

Ooof, and you aren't even close to the ground where the shadows really start dropping frames.

On newer gpu's it doesn't seem to drop as drastically, but ya Ultraforcapture seems to only a thing for the absolute newest gpus, my 5700xt drops less of as a % than yours, but I still lose about 25% fps. It's pretty but I think unless you're just doing exploring, the first time you drop into a settlement at night with your frames in the 10s, wondering whats the point of this stupid setting at night and than you remember you need to restart the game to turn it off and ya, I've just kept mine on Ultra.
OK where the hell is this "Ultra for capture" setting? I've looked through all the graphics settings and don't see it anywhere...

Worth the climb (well precarious ship landing spot)

Just over the ridge, near some large boulders found some more of the same species in its flowering stages, all very beautiful

The mountain reveals more secrets! Worth a Selfie despite the ominous gargling noises

Schrödinger's planet.

It's earth like world, but it's not actually.
