The "Has it been to Beagle & ishums reach" thread

It is done. After a 3 day sprint across the galaxy, CMDR Alexis Liamson arrived safely at Beagle Point in the Adder "Galileo":

As I don't have the Sol permit in this account I couldn't lock on to that system. Wolf 359 is close by though:

This was followed an hour later with the arrival at Ishum's Reach:

Of course, not all of the ship made it. I've left a fair bit of paint spread across the galaxy:

So there it is. An Adder has been to Beagle Point and Ishum's Reach.

OMG how did i miss this! Congrats CMDR

Also added the T-10 to the list

Question is, when I reach Colonia I'm at a crossroads. Do I head back to the bubble like planned, or pick up one of these untaken ships to Beagle??

There isn't a lot of outfitting options at Colonia, have a look and see, maybe you will need to come back to the bubble to outfit for the trip anyway.

Hmmm that's true. Although I think I have some stuff in storage at home, it would just mean spending the cash to ship it over, and finding something to do for 62 hours [smile]

So, the spot for first Type 6 to Ishum's Reach is still empty?

Seems unlikely that I am the first, but here goes: reached it on May the 5th, as part of DECE.

Also visited Salomé's reach, but it at that point in time, the second to last moon was further away from the galaxy, so here is a snapshot from (at that point in time) the furthest object from Sol.

You're on the list until someone says otherwise :)

I haven't logged into Elite since early March... :O

Sorry mate, hope my posting wasn't out of line, I just love lists!

Props to Kenneth too for looking after this one :)

im surprised there's still gaps in the list :) especially with guardian tech - the sillywinder can now make it https://beta.coriolis.io/outfit/sid...=.EweloBjEoUwQwOYBtYhARgtoA===&bn=sillywinder

Frawd where are you? ^^

I quickly crafted a long range federal gunship which can now make the beacon meaning all ships in theory can - Which while i love the idea of firsts... the challenge has truly been sapped out of this making semotus beacon just another star in the universe :( albeit 65kly away

its quite a sad day for exploration and the outer limits IMO - perhaps the exploration update will evolve & the edge of the universe will become somewhat a challenging place to navigate once again, i will live in hope under a rock until then...

Semotus is likely not the furthest jump in the game any more, with the new updates to jump range that the Guardian FSD and Jumponium bring. People just aren't looking for harder places.

I'm not sure that being able to do it in more ships makes it less challenging.

When only an Asp or an Anaconda could make the range there wasn't more challenge, just fewer ships you could do it in and more jumps to get there.

In all honesty, it's now possible to get to Semotus Beacon without jumponium. I find that quite easy.

A-yup. It's more variety across the board, and of course the top jump range achievable was increased by ~10 ly. However, said top jump range was already well past what would make finding a route to a star that requires a 82.68 ly jump a challenge.

No offense to anyone, but I thought that reaching the farthest (from Sol) star was an endurance challenge, and not one of navigation. After all, the routes are well-mapped, and the maximum jump over 100 ly. Of course, if you wish to challenge yourself somewhat, there's nothing stopping you from flying a 42 ly ship and not looking up the routes others have already used. (You'll still see the tagged systems, of course.)
