Point is, you're not helping them in that regard. You're only helping them never want to come back to a game/genre that they would have otherwise loved and enjoyed with you even. But nah.


I've seen so many people come and go in Eve it's not even funny. Everything about Eve was something they longed for in a game, any game. But that forced "you better gank and steal and backstab or else you are not playing right" mentality is what made them leave permanently.

Mmm, I beg to differ.
By annihilating them in seconds, I'm showing the player first hand why flying a shieldless, armorless trade ship into the CG is a mistake. Then by me sending a message, offering my help, they're more open to it.

You might not agree with my methods but they're tried and proven. I've helped many players this way. There have been some nasty, salty players but those kinds of people don't deserve help anyway in my opinion.

Yeah I understand this now. ( remember a time that you said very much the same thing to me on one o my more...vocal posts about griefers )

Players can play their way in Elite OP, be that trading, killing pirates or just being plain pests. it is all acceptable. That is why playing open is a win/lose choice, sure you meet a lot of like minded awesome people, but also you will find just how evil humanity really is.

I play in Solo because of this, to avoid horrible people in-game entirely, and in real life. (One does not simply work in hospitality and get treated with respect....) so it is good escapism!

I think the 6 players that I've helped would argue differently. None of them knew what the CG actually was and now all of them know how to survive and escape an interdiction with ease.

3 that were really salty and sent me nasty messages, 20+ that just reply "thanks for the heads up" or not at all and 6 that I actually took time in chat to go over their build and taught them how to submit and high wake. All of them are pros at it now.

Also, I have a bit of a personal rule of never killing the same weak/helpless ship more than once no matter how salty they are. I do love blowing people up but I don't want them to quit playing the game.



Wait, what about the xb mobius? Did I miss something?

Edit: oh wow, I completely missed your post. Thank you so much for that. I had no idea Xbox had a mobius pg server. I'm not interested but I know many players that will be. Thanks again.

i had a simulair experience
i went out there not knowing there is only litle room to land in my corvette
so jumping was a hell of a time to get there
then try'ed to land for an hour

very spooky place at first but then i got the hang of it
then out of nowhere the first one showed up and i got some attacks in my srv
so i asked him why i got some lame excuse and it stopped
then the second one popped up and this fool started shooting at the pilons and ofcourse i git hit also
again i asked why got the excuse he must shoot the pilons and he did not stop

i asked both of them to let me finish my round so they could get on it
twice i asked with no respons
logged out to solo recalled my ship wich ofcourse was e whole experience to get in
got back to open

and unfortunatly one was gone
the other one lleft his ship so he had to walk home
i am a shamed of it but there was no other option
to be honnest i can not shake it that i did that

but again a lesson for me that FD will never listen to the majority of users that wants a PvE server/group (not Mobius)
and i will never do these things in open again
