The Key Feature Overhaul

Unreal 5 is a bit different than Elite but, don't you think that was kind of an unnecessary statement for me to try to explain how hard programmers work.

Give programmers a little bit of credit, they do work very hard to mix a Simulator with a FPS as they are completely two different engines.

I'm not a Frontier Development programmer but I do understand the concept of comparing Elite (a Simulator to begin with) and Unreal 5 (a First Person Shooter to begin wit) it certainly isn't easy to work with two engines instead on just one as Elite was never planned to be a true FPS even in the end decision of Horizons.
And yes I was exaggerating a bit, but you don't need to crucify me for this.

Fleet Carriers do have interactions such as this but the Fleet Carriers are a very new addition for pre-Odyssey so no, it wasn't that hard to implement this but the rest of the core fundamentals to game components where never intended to have this type of interactions thus very hard and long and require serious resources to implement them throughout the entire core game fundamentals.

Thank you @OHMSS, that was a very kind and respectful thing to say as most responses do not come back in such a way in a public forum. It is truly good to see the best of players in forums as they are the ones that show true respect and morals.

I feel that people like you need to be recognized publicly due to you don't see these comments in forums as they are very rare this day and age.....o7 Commander.
 
We'll only find out when we find out, but I can think of a few "key features" that need some serious overhauling:
  • anti-aliasing is garbage, always has been.
  • lighting, shading, contrast, and light exposure auto-correction are wack.
  • Starforge and the planet terrain generation as well as the planet tiling issue (Though now we've heard from FDev that "we can't do that, cuz it's too much work and we gotta put that effort into something more important". Not that the "more important" thing is going to be this key feature overhaul I'm sure.)
  • servers and instancing are unreliable and still reliant on a P2P system.
  • Let's be honest, Odyssey on-foot combat is broken - Yamiks has a point in his review of Ody's FPS -

But whatever, knowing how FDev loves to play the tease, it'll probably just be drinks at the bar.

It will be ship and SRV cockpits getting the overhaul.

They will be adding a popup/overlay screen that shows the view 'behind' you when you are traveling backwards when hardpoints are retracted. Deploying hardpoints disables the feature so as not to interfere with a top combat technique.
