So you personally (whatever your real life name is) are going to guarantee Frontier the game will grow
You are going to wire the lost money to frontier right, that is what you are saying if you guarantee something.

I doubt you have the current annual revenue from ED to front into a bond for that.

YEah because its common sense.

Mile-wide Inch Deep Meme.

5 years of Hotel California.

People BEGGING for these changes and leaving instead of staying in the multiplayer part of this game.

The sample size from Steam show numbers Plateau all the time, and increase anytime there is a money meta. Then go back down again. Active members and players should be growing. Not stalling out.

Keeping people interested in a game is priority Number one. A game like this, with paint jobs and player factions and all that stuff. You want it to grow.

Competition and content is what keeps people involved.

If you look on twitch, Every game thats ontop is all Competitive for a reason.

You guys can discount anything I say all you'd like. But numbers and the community over the years speak for themselves. And have proven everything I have said to be true. All you guys gotta do is pay attention.

This.

Give the pvp'ers something. Like an open only area with interesting scenarios for battles.

Promote competitive player to player interaction.

Because the lack of experience and feedback they have been getting over the years have been from people like you and maynard. WHich is why the toxicity exists in the first place within the game. And is taken outside of the game, with Doxxing, threats of being swatted and so forth when PVP does happen.

I'm sorry are you seriously suggesting that people like me (whatever you actually mean by that) are the reason why people are doxxing others?

You really want to take that back and be careful with insults you sling around mate.

Just because you can't answer any of the counter arguments to your suppositions and constantly wriggle around them isn't my fault or anyone's but your own. Why don't you try and actually answer why you wouldn't fly that same shieldless Python in Open, why do you expect to always be in the same instance as people fighting against you, why do you expect you will always be able to successfully interdict them? And probably most importantly, why do you think that you'd see them more than once when they can easily block you?

You can't put up a sheet of glass that demonstrates only 1 tiny possible outcome, but when it gets smashed just pretend it wasn't.

I've not only answered them. I've proven them with videos and screenshots of others doing it.

But again people discredit them because they don't like it when truth hits them in the face. Just like that Reddit thread I posted. There are tons like that if you go digging through the hotel threads. It was created as a dump threads because the topic came up so much. Long before I got here.

So ask yourself who's the crazy one? The mods that have been involved in them? Knowing it to be true?

Or me the one showing you the golden road?

@Zaphod, Where your real life analogy goes wrong is that these pirates don't show up in secure areas like they do in Elite. The kind of pirates you refer to can't stand against royal navies.

So there is quite some difference between your perception and reality as well.

Why?

Why cant PvP be meaningful to those that wish to engage in it? Why do some PvPers require lambs to slaughter?

Why must non PvPers be required to PvP to make it meaningful?

The objectives in this game are controlled by moving tokens around, non of those tokens require direct PvP.

Other games that are PvP centered have PvP tokens to push around or leader boards, and generally low cost to dying (especially if they are popular).

There is no need to make this game one of those.

Answered it 1000 times already not my fault you guys don't get it. Go get some experience in the game first. Learn the builds. Engineer. Play ever aspect of the game.

Cause I'll tell you what. People that's argued with me before about this went and did it to prove me wrong.

Then they turned around and found out i was right the whole time.

Just wait. You'll see.

Those who choose steal your cargo have their own motivations, but there is a reason they are few and far between.

Nothing you can possibly carry has enough value to justify fitting a cargo rack on a combat ship.

In fact, your most attractive attribute as a poorly fit trader is the massive bounty your killer will incur upon your death.

Staying alive to incur ever higher bounties is part of the fun now (although some tweaks to the bounty system would be great... nobody is going to get excited over payouts capped at 2 mil or whatever).

It's funny that those with "itchy trigger fingers" are "sad losers" in your mind when you simply have unrealistic expectations for such encounters.

Why people so consistently expect this kind of pirate: when modern pirates are more like this: is beyond me.

They look like reasonable guys, maybe they're just interdicting you to ask for directions.

It's not all about Credits.

I'm playing a game, there is no relation whatsoever to in game pirates and real life ones. Pirates are people who try to get cargo from you they have, as you say, their own motivations. People who pull you out of SC and blast you without any comms are just, in my opinion, sad losers (in the context of the game, I do have the ability to separate it from real life).

I have no trouble differentiating the two and my expectations of both are entirely accurate thanks.

You didn't answer my questions!

No, you haven't told me how you expect to interdict people in Open when they have blocked you, as you won't be in the same instance to be able to.

I suppose the block ability will have to go too won't it?

You have proven nothing. I believe that you believe you’ve proved something.

All of the “people” that want “meaningful” PvP chose “optimal” PvE object based gameplay over direct PvP. Yourself included. That’s why your only option to get the direct PvP that you want is to eliminate choice of game mode. Direct and “meaningful” PvP is not as attractive to the people as object based PvE that avoids direct PvP. If that were not the case, then PP/BGS manipulations would most often happen in Open only because that’s where everyone would be. Instead, the “people” would rather engage us by-design PP/BGS manipulations in modes that avoid direct PvP.

If as many people as you say care about “meaningful” PvP, then why don’t more people engage in it? You run to solo and pg to run “optimized” loadouts because you’re trying to keep up. Because you’re vastly outnumbered by “people” who prefer objective based PvE. If the opposite were true, then Open would be flooded for PP/BGS by choice. But the masses have spoken to their preferred game play style by the way they participate in PP/BGS. I’m sorry if that’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth.

Indeed Ozric, and cross platform, and playing when 90's and his buddies aren't, and easily configuring your own router, and escaping, and beating him and his buddies, and the postman knocking on his door, and his relatives visiting, and needing a pee, and needing a shower, and needing anything from the shops......................

Don’t forget about other platforms and instancing. He would rather tear the player base apart than to make changes of inclusivity. Elitism and exclusivity are the tools of the toxic.

I personally would get rid of PG, solo, blocking and all of your protective measures and replace them with areas of high security, low security, zero security and then everything outside the bubble.

I'd also have more interesting hubs where players can congregate in each and interact with each other.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Ok, the joke was funny but now we're just into handbags. There's no point in trying to police an April Fool's day thread, soo....

Closing.
