The Mordor Ice Rally Circuit

Sure, I've still got 5kly to go myself so I probably won't start looking until Thursday.

Looks like my list doesn't overlap with @ruifo's either so we can probably do our searches independently and report back anything really promising here?
This sounds like a plan!

I'm reckoning about an hour to get home this evening, so if I have any more time I'll pick one and head over for a quick look.

Checked 6 planets in the Bubble yesterday (from my own search)... so far nothing good enough

Hmm... Looking back to some long-long forum threads it seems there is an irony in this search - kind of a crash-testing of how really repeatable planetary features in Odyssey are... =))))

You mean like, now we're desperately looking for this repeatable feature we actually like ... we can'tfind it? Yeah, I do see the irony there 😆

I've narrowed it down to the Earth Masses search slider not working. Remove that criteria and you start getting results, lots of them. Need to get back in game and get some more info about the Mordor moon (e.g. atmosphere type). Annoyingly, a while back someone (Mardante Soloist or maybe Mita Kondria?) posted a complete dump of ALL the info about this moon but I can't find it now.

Now fixed apparently!

Edit: The reason is that decimal places wasn't enabled on that particular field. If a field isn't showing with decimal places then it will truncate/round the values when you submit (so they were being sent as 0 in this case). I've put 2 decimal places on earth masses, solar radius and solar masses.

Thanks @Spansh !

Edit: I've added a 2nd list to my post above of with 8 candidate Icy bodies close to Sol with the right kind of Earth mass.

Back in the bubble now and starting to check the moons on those lists to see if we can find something similar a bit closer to home.

Before I left I did just go through my screenshots folder.

As a reminder of what we're looking for, here's a couple of similar formations elsewhere on the Mordor planet ..

And here's one of me and Shaye lining up for an SRV race 8kly from home (which Shaye won by about 15km).

Hi @Alec Turner

I've checked the following; nothing as yet!

Mehudti A 5
Col 285 Sector NV-R b19-6 1 a
Hyades Sector ZZ-O b6-6 A 3
Antliae Sector ER-V b2-2 A 6
Col 285 Sector IK-J b24-1 6

However, I won't be in the least bit offended if someone else wants to double-check! ☺️

No.5, Pegasi Sector KI-J b9-2 3 a is a dud. I did get first mapped and first footfall though :)
Edit: Same list 8, 11, 14 are also showing nothing of interest.

I brought my Whippet Buckyballing flotilla out for a blast round Mordor, the Courier was especially fun. Today I finally got the SRVTracker working (Norton AV kept removing crucial parts without telling me) so I finally had a drive: 2hr 31 min! 👏 Last place is mine! In my defence, the sun had set and it was dark and spooky. The spansh link above gives the rotation period as 48.1 somethings, I guess hours? so I'll try again tomorrow to see if it's daylight for another blast, and maybe try some of the other formations and then start the long trip home.

Definitely a great find, and the exploration data along the way has me showing a profit on the trip :)

Edit: Nope, the rotation period is 48.1 days. Well, I'm not waiting here for 3 weeks for daylight again; setting off for home tomorrow.
