Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

Finished the expedition yesterday. Pretty easy and enjoyable and, as is the case with most expeditions, a great tutorial and introduction to the new features and mechanics.
I find building skeletons quite relaxing, and I might build a base just to use it as a museum.

Fun fact: yesterday I decided to hunt for bones and realised that I almost never have to dig to pick them up. I just walk above the place where they're buried and there's always an angle that lets me loot. 🥳

I don't know if it's a bug, but works for me. 🤭

On the other hand, it's no longer possible to summon damaged ships on the Anomaly or on the Freighter and then teleport to a station to scrap them.

I thought I'd like to have a look at these new gas-giants in No Man's Sky. However, earlier in the year I had skipped the "Titan" expedition (exped 17) and so had to learn how to get access. I decided to have a go at using a completely new save and working through all the required "quests / storylines" to actually unlock access to these "purple systems".

60 hours of game time (actual playing time) later ... Gee-whiz; people think Elite is "gindy" but at least in Elite you don’t "have" to do things, in NMS you can't get to access these new systems without following the storylines.

Now I knew what I was doing so I can only imagine what a brand-new player would make of this; I mean they can't complete the Atlas Path storyline (which you have to do for this) unless they gain enough Journey Milestones anyway.

Next time someone moans about "gind" in Elite Dangerous I'll point them to these "purple systems".

Edited to correct the expedition number of the "Titan" expedition.

Personally I think elite does it better. It always has done... Bear in mind I've played elite for a long time . I only started NMS since consolegate. The expeditions are an intro to the new stuff and take a few hours to complete, but if you miss them you can still access them or wait til the expedition runs again at the end of the year. Elite adds stuff which is hidden behind factions mats or gameplay which you either have to do or accept that you don't get any further.

It's a joy to see HG keep making NMS even better. May re-install and play again.

Played on the first day back in 2016, to see it all come together after all these years, improving year on year. Just great HG, well done.
I have everything I need in NMS, so now having living areas to explore is a real plus. The more there is to find the better... Within reason, it's space ! I want to be the first to discover places sometimes, which can be a problem in NMS, in the past at least.

No, no, no, this is all quite impossible ;)

The settlement are time based builds and I just got rid of my a class I had for 2 years ? Never could get it up to S class . So will see what's what there isn't that much different from the old settlements as far as I can see . Build stuff up grade buildings a few missions etc but it's gote hooked for now .
