Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

Well some players will have it in just three days... :)
.
I'll have mine when the pc version gets loaded into my waiting steam slot, which is a few days later. But I can wait.
If they keep this game supported, which I feel they probably will, then wow, I'll be lost in space for quite a while. In no rush to get anywhere fast...
Nice. ;)

All you guys saying it looks boring, I do not see that. It looks fun but i am not buying it until massive price drops.

I see the same repetitive gameplay in NMS like ED offers. Collect resources to build your character. In ED you use credits to build your character.
But my assumption is just based on some of the gameplay footage I've seen for the past year now and I'm hopeful it will at least have an interesting plot, although I haven't heard anything about a story.
I can't shake the feeling that NMS will leave a lot of the players disappointed after the ginormous hype...

Does NMS support HOTAS?

Blown PSU on my pc at moment. Haven't bought NMS yet so I'm going to use the psu bad luck to wait out and see what gets said across media and users here and elsewhere.

'An interesting plot'. Since when did NMS ever claim to be story based? It is in that respect similar to ED and hence not story led, some background detail perhaps but not to drag you along with any main plots.
No plot just like ED you need to be happy with the experience of it rather than to be deep in some made up plot by some other.

From what I have seen I doesn't look boring, just overly simplistic that's all. NMS is the diet coke of space trading games. I will quite happily pick a copy up, hoping the god awful pop up / lod issues are not present on the PC though. Yes doing this sort of seamless game will have it to a point but it is terrible to the point of immersion breaking on the PS4.

Oh for the love of... another delay? As some of the reddit and twitter comments have pointed out, they could do with some PR advice... still, from all the interviews they genuinely seem like they just want to make the best game possible, here's hoping 3 days (seriously????) of polish will make it better on release!

That's kinda what I said, isn't it. I said I haven't heard anything about a plot. And given your response there doesn't seem to be any.
But thanks for clarify things. I'll look elsewhere.

It's just three days...

I can't believe the fuss over it.

I've preordered on the psn store, I have no idea whether it's going be any good or not, haven't watched any of the leaks (well, 30 seconds worth). I have enjoyed riding on the hype train though :)

It's only being delayed by 3 days on PC and PS4 for EU. NA's PS4 playerbase still gets it Tuesday.

NMS Countdown

Steam for me always said the 12th so from my perspective no delay.

Buying for ps4 so no delay plus if game is only like 6gigs than I should be able to get some time in day 1. Also has there been any word on how preorder stuff will work?

Cant' agree, yes on the PS4 there will be some 'pop up'; but for us PS4 users we expect/accept it....It will not effect my immersion. Different strokes, I guess. Its going to be a joy to play.

That's a pretty poor excuse though ... I wouldn't expect it at all to be honest. Some pop-up doesn't really cover it. At least in ED when you approach a planet it still looks for the most part at distance to what it does close up . NMS doesn't even bother trying in that department to the point where if the PC version was like that I simply wouldn't play it.

Well, I just pre-ordered the GOG version of this game. DRM free baby, or it had better be at any rate. Only reason why I go to GOG, no DRM.

I haven't paid much attention to the press about this game so far, I just like the idea of taking off and landing from planets w/out the need for a good interweb connection.

I am looking forward to the game though.

I sincerely hope that Sony didn't force a cap on PC performance / quality for sake of "parity". This game seems to have a lot of potential for massive updates and possibly, knock on wood, a proper multiplayer mode with coop! At least on PC!

It said the 11th for me for me (in Australia) for ages but now says 13th (which will be the 12th in most other timezones).
Meh, a couple of days is nothing. It would be nice if the install could be done earlier, however.
