A "small" detail regarding this latest interceptor update, again we're getting new ships!
When was the last time Frontier introduced a new ship in ED? In a game more about spaceships then NMS?
A "small" detail regarding this latest X4 update, again we're getting new ships!

And a new (old) alien race as well ;)

NOTE - I'm not trying to diminish NMS' accomplishments, but rather I'm joining the choir pointing out ED's own self-diminishing.

(And of course in Space Engineers, every ship is a new ship, LOL)

Would that be the Xenon?
I used to play the X games up until X3 Reunion, Rebirth never appealed to me, and then I became a couch console gamer.

Everytime I'm again amazed by what Hello Games comes up with, literally every update brought something for almost everyone to enjoy.
Ugh, I realy love the style of the new Sentinel ships, and so many variations!!

Boron! They've been added last because as water creatures they were the hardest to add to the game with "space legs".

[...] and then I became a couch console gamer.
Ahh, that explains your undying love for NMS. Not that PC gamers don't love NMS. Personally it's not my cup of tea (it's TOO busy, like a hectic middle-eastern outdoor market), but on PS where the selection of space games are limited, it helps fill a niche.

But I probably shouldn't complain about NMS in it's fan thread, LOL. If nothing else, Hello Games (and Egosoft and Keen) show us that Frontier's excuses for lack of progress and poor quality code are just that, excuses.

I agree completely, Frontier's disconnect with their playerbase is staggering, there have been plenty very long time requests but none of them are answered.
Instead they come up with stuff just a few asked for and because those features aren't used enough by the players they end up half baked.

NMS isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine, it's a matter of taste, there are however a lot of people who love it and they make a great community, the NMS discord is a good example of that.

Yup.

The other thing that NMS absolutely nailed was the ability to sculpt the sort of interactions that were possible between you and others. Simple to set up, everything runs in an 'quasi open world', and the Nexus is a great clearing house for players wanting to meet up and play. 10/10.

HG seem to understand how to make games fun and seem serious about not taking/making things too serious(ly). If only....... (nuf said?)

Yes.

I like playing games solo but sometimes it's a nice change to team up with others, NMS does this brilliantly.
They even took care of grinding alltogether for those who want that with the custum options in the difficulty settings.
NMS is purely about having fun and do the things you like, with or without challenge, and with a pletoria of tools.

I will say that I am disappointed that we didn't get the new station exteriors yet. I wasn't really expecting them - I can't see HG adding new exteriors without doing the interiors as well, and those weren't included in the files so they probably are still working on them - but I can't wait for the day we get 'em. I like the current station design but the new ones blew me away. The station overhauls indicates that HG is still working on the space portion of the game (which already looks quite nice now!). That makes me happy, of course. HG never rests on its laurels.

I am curious if HG is also quietly working on planetary surfaces as well. The amount of biodiversity is really remarkable now:

Exactly. I know I said it about the last update but I'll say it again: there is just something welcoming about NMS. It just feels really good to return to the game/setting.

PS: I am glad the better stars returned. I thought I was going nuts when the stars looked dull after the last update. Apparently, it was a bug introduced with the Fractal update. The pretty ones are back again!

This is interesting:

The lore featured in this vid is really fascinating. It can be hard to digest in the game because it is presented in such a fragmentary fashion. One day I need to read through it all. HG really came up with an interesting and original story for the game.

Clearly, HG is building upon the narrative and has begun unlocking the next major stage. I have no doubt this will lead to one of the biggest moments in the game to date and HG is probably excited to see how we react. I don't believe any delay is expected in delivering this next narrative phase but it will include many improvements and fixes anyway.

I don't do the hyper drive . Never done it since Capital ships were put in . If I want to jump I use fleet carrier . It has all the bits I need and it can scan the whole system with one button push . I think it's jump range is just under 5000lyrs and it can jump into all systems .

Those are some cool looking ships! I came here to post some pics of a new ship I got...but now it doesn't look so cool. 🙄

I'll post them anyway. :)

It's a compact. :) I had my previous ship for some time now, so I was looking for a wreck to restore. RNG was against me because every distress signal was something other than a personal craft. I had given up and was doing some work around my base when this ship landed in my backyard! I didn't know Carvana existed in the Euclid Galaxy! :) I traded ships with the Korvax and got this one in exchange. It is an upgrade to my old ship which was only a C-class. This is a B-class. Ol' Bloodina now wants to go for a ride.

I took it out for a spin and came across a freighter wreck.

I needed to do some mining for tritium and silver, so I headed to a nearby asteroid field. While cruising around, I found these space jellies! I don't think I ever saw them before! Neat.

NMS is amazing now. It is overflowing with content. Come-from-behind champ!

I explore this way in NMS too. Jump the capital ship fleet, scan the whole system in my carrier command center, then fly my personal ship to the planets I want to explore on foot, building bases on scenic or remarkable planets I'll want to visit often. It's a great exploration gameplay loop!

This new Interceptor update is one of my favorites for NMS. It blends all the new gameplay loops and features together into a very nice experience. Hello Games has gotten extremely good at game developing and it shows with this update in spades.

Another patch today 4.22

Oh for smeg sake hello games. they need to make the Free bee gifts in game way more noticeable.. if your going to say "you look for a new jet pack so go on quest to get it" in patch notes, Dont just flick the notification up for a split second many people got it with out seeing that there was no quest to build it... it just got added and that was it...
